what's your favourite kitchen appliance?

the humble kettle is something I use literally every day so that deserves the love. That being said I have a great stick blender that I love busting out for soups

are you married or do you intend to get married?

Eh, not really. Maybe a civil partnership for legal or immigration reasons if needed somewhere down the line but it's not something either of us feels that strongly about.

what's your favourite household chore?

I hate the requirement of doing it but it has to be said I can clean a good bathroom when I get into the flow state. Same for cooking

what chore do you hate the most?

cleaning the litter trays because those two fuckheads ALWAYS wait until right after I've tied off the bin bag before heading straight back in to besmirch their fresh toilet once again

what are your hobbies?

at the moment singing takes up a boatload of my free time! Started going to a local singing event, joined a community choir off the back of that, then started a new band with some mates for the fun of it :) occasional songwriting off the back of that but less than I'd like.

what's a hobby you'd like to get into?

Related to the aforementioned rock collecting I really want to do more crafting and woodwork. I got a dremel engraver a while ago that I wanna learn how to use properly to make rune sets out of rocks and sea glass. Also my partner got me a whittling tool for Christmas and I've been waiting for the weather to get good again to go into the woods and try making some little guys

what's your go-to recipe when you want to make something that requires minimal effort?

most of my 'easy' recipes are still a bit ingredient intensive but I really like cooking rice in veg stock with tenderstem broccoli and diced/lightly fried brown onion and garlic, then adding strips of some sort of meat substitute stir-fried in a sticky sauce made from chilli jam, soy sauce and sesame oil

what's the coolest place you've visited?

cool is subjective and life is long but here's five that spring to mind in no particular order:

what's the best job you've ever had?

Probably the one I have right now! (website editor for a beloved TV property)

secondary to that as much as I hate to admit it there was a very sweet spot early on in my time as a creator where it was actually financially viable to do full-time, and i don't think I've really ever felt freedom like that since.

what's the worst job you've ever had?

this is a tough one as I'd say I've only ever had shitty experiences at otherwise okay jobs! I was a kitchen porter at 16 for a local Italian restaurant that closed down while I was off on holiday bc it turned out the owner was in "get your legs broken" type debt. I wrote for an internet news website for a bit (which slowly mutated into a YouTuber gossip website and that really put me in some shitty social positions), and similarly to both I also wrote content for a creator agency that almost never paid me for 3 months' work bc in the background they were slowly going into liquidation lmaooo

ACTUALLY LOL I FORGOT. Actual worst job: aged 17, Burger King Princes St (a massive one that is now the Apple store). I lasted about a week there before some wee ned threatened to wait for me outside bc his chicken royale had too much mayo

do you collect anything?

ROCKS, really been leaning back into my goblin childhood of collecting cool rocks and precious stones the past couple of years. I'll always get something from either a museum gift shop or one of Edinburgh's many witchy stores when I pass through, as well as any particularly cool pebbles on the beach or river banks (not too many tho bc I don't want to single-handedly erode the coast)

here's just a few I have on my desk (excuse the dust)

I've also gone back to collecting physical releases of music as well, got all my old CDs out of storage last year and started picking up more cheap random finds at vinyl markets as well

do you have kids? do you want them?

Nah. Used to feel a bit vague and non-committal about it, like it's just something you gotta do eventually, but a relationship with someone actively childfree plus a few years in therapy unpacking my own upbringing plus all the *gestures at everything* has made the decision much easier.

what's your living arrangement? (who do you live with, in what kind of building, do you own or rent or other?)

rrrrrenting a flat with said partner and our two (2) cats

what's your favourite piece of furniture and where did you get it?

my partner got a vintage Pierre Paulin lounge chair handed down from her parents when we moved in together that sits in our window and is comfy as hellllll. At one point it'd have been p valuable but it was re-upholstered long before we got it (also my cat likes to sleep underneath and has scratched the life out of it 😬)
