Petition to have Tumblr actually do something about porn blog bots following users.

• It’s annoying. • It gives an imperfect metric for how many followers you have. (I would estimate about 25% of my “followers” are porn blogs run by bots). • It makes pulling up your activity page iffy even if you use Tumblr strictly for SFW content. • It’s problematic for individuals who have struggled with sex and/or pornography addictions, especially since many of the blog names are not obviously porn names, causing you to preview the blog. • It exposes minors to illegal and harmful content.

And to many of us: • It’s disgusting. • it’s degrading to human beings, especially women. • It makes Tumblr a less classy, less reputable place.

Please share this if you agree this is a serious problem.

I read your post about not wanting to argue when you tell people you're suicidal, and as someone who experiences suicidal thoughts, I completely agree. Telling me I'm amazing or loved doesn't help me. In that moment I won't appreciate it, I literally mentally can't. If anything, being told I don't need to feel suicidal because of XYZ is counterproductive. It just leaves me more exhausted, feeling less understood and ironically, invalidated. Just hear me. Just be there and hear me.

I wish people would realize this. I hope you find someone who will listen. I would offer but typing it is so different from saying it out loud to someone. Either way please try to stay strong my friend ✊Rather than argue I'll offer advice even tho it was unsolicited I have dealt with depression since I was sexually abused as a child. Meditation has helped, as well as hobbies. The more productive I am and the less I sit/lay around the less my mind wanders. It is hard I know, there are days I have to force myself to get up. Just a little advice. It has helped me most days.

When it Comes to Mental Illness and Suicide...

When it comes to mental illness and suicide, I don’t think people quite understand that I don’t want to argue. When I tell you I want to die or that I want to kill myself, I don’t say it because I want you to tell me how my friends and family love me. I don’t want you to say how my whole life is ahead of me. I don’t even want you to say that things will get better. I just want you to sit there and listen. You don’t have to say anything, its ok, I just want someone else to know what is in my head. That’s it. I just want to say it out loud to somebody. Thank you.
