I was taught a long time ago in elementary school but all their lessons about keeping your eyes on the screen and using all of your fingers never really stuck with me, so a few years ago I decided to reteach myself. I even learned a new keyboard layout! I can type at an average of 90 wpm now, and it's so much more convenient not to have to look at my hands all the time.

look. toby fox makes great music! but no, undertale's soundtrack does not use a 24 tone system or microtones in general. he just raises or lowers the pitch after he makes the song to change the vibe. not being tuned to modern western musical standards does not make a song microtonal.

While one could say the soundtrack is, collectively speaking, in 24edo, most of the songs on their own are in either 12edo with a reference pitch of A=440Hz, or 12edo with a reference pitch that falls about in the middle of two adjacent pitches from the aforementioned system. Basically, saying that some of the Undertale soundtrack is microtonal is equivalent to saying that Golden Hour by JVKE is microtonal. While it's in a key that you technically can't play on an average keyboard, you can still play it without the relationships between any two notes sounding off. Still, the fact that people are exploring other reference pitches in today's music is pretty cool on its own!
