She could sense the annoyance in his voice but ignored it. Dominiki didn’t waste time going upstairs to grab her son and the young babysitter. The girl had a few bags of her own and brought down the car seat for the baby. The sitter helped strap the boy in and Dominiki moved to sit up front. “We’re ready to go.”
Fernando looked over his shoulder and soon started up the car. As they drove, he was silent for a bit. Breaking down soon, he glanced over at her. “I don’t mean to be short with you. Time is just not on our side right now.”
