So apparently in Star Trek there's a ship named the USS Grissom. And my dad, who Watches Star Trek Regularly, Just Realized it was named after Gus Grissom
an update to this: he owns a model kit for the USS Grissom. He bought an entire model kit to build the USS Grissom without realizing it was named after Gus Grissom.
In one episode of the original series they mentioned the Apollo 11 mission
