Looking back it’s just a waste of time.
since i haven’t been here in a while...
hey y’all, it’s been a minute so I’m going to do a quick intro for my own sake as well as yours ♡
i am a pre-nursing student in my second semester of my sophomore year & i will find out if i made it into my school’s nursing program in two short weeks.
i’m here to reflect & figure out what I value, what i want & how i want to pursue the things i really want. i’m here to heal & forgive my past. i’m here to work on my aesthetic so bare with me.
gonna try & make this a more consistent thing so here we go.
xo, em
Me before an exam: I’ve studied, I remember this, I’m ok
Me during an exam: oh my god I’ve forgotten my name

Stop settling for friends who make you feel like you can’t be yourself, or that you have to change a large part of who you are in order to be good enough for them.
Stop settling for a life of sitting still, of watching other people go after what they want while you sit back because you’re too afraid to try.
Stop settling for toxic social environments. If you’re invited to a dinner outing with a group of gossipy and judgmental people, politely decline. If you have to go because it’s a work thing or because you need to support your partner, go for an hour and leave. Don’t ever give more of yourself and your energy than you need to.
Stop settling for being an ‘okay’ friend. If a friend is going through a bad breakup, show up to their apartment with beer and cake and don’t leave until they’re ready for you to leave. Show up for the people who show up for you.
Stop settling for the idea that fear is always something that should be avoided. If your heart starts pounding when you think about applying for that job or signing up for that acting class or trying to make amends with that one friend, listen to it. Embrace the fear. Fear is a compass.
Stop settling for a life of being on autopilot. Of commuting to work like a zombie, of playing on your phone instead of being fully present for movie night with your friends, of thinking about what you’re going to say next when you’re talking to someone. Just let yourself relax, and be there. Something will always come afterwards, just trust.
Stop settling for the idea that happiness is a milestone to attain instead of a state of being. At some point, you must grasp that if you just keep chasing and chasing, there will always be something new to want. But if you start focusing on the joy of being, simply being, you’ll have a much easier time finding happiness. After all, it’s already there. It’s always been there.

small ways to be a better person ✨
wait for someone if u notice they’re falling behind
if you have a moment of admiration or love for someone, say it out loud
give random song recs and send them things that made u think of them
be as kind to yourself as you are to others
be more aware of your surroundings and help people who seem to need help
if someone gets interrupted, ask what they were going to say
try to step inside someone’s shoes instead of judging them or labeling them
don’t say hurtful things especially if it’s not constructive
say “I love you” more often and spend more time with people you love
make sure everyone in the group is included
make someone’s day better by smiling at everyone you see and maybe saying hello
ask if someone is okay if you notice that they’ve been distant
hello I moved stuff around in my room and now this is my wall
Best advice I’ve received so far
the time you take being jealous of other people’s success is the time you could be using to build your own
you’re never going to “feel like it”
doing and practicing now is better than waiting for the perfect moment
eliminate people with toxic habits from your life
you are in control. Everything you’ve done up to this moment led you here. Therefore, your future is determined by what you do now.
everything is as it should be and only later in life you can connect the dots.
self discipline will give you freedom. consistency will give you results
everything is temporary. You should find freedom in this concept
the rich stay rich acting poor and the poor stay poor acting rich
being healthy means finding a balance between the good and the bad
the people that outranked you have outworked you.
you can’t be grateful and negative at the same time.
Meditate on these statements. They are so very powerful! Xxx

How much of you is left to explore?

My August spread! I haven’t posted any of my month intro spreads here before (usually because I don’t finish them until way after the first) Inspiration for this came from @studyrose, @moonshinestudies, and all the bullet journals on youtube with space themes. I’ve been waiting for a few months to do a ocean/space theme ever since I got two of these stickers!
I’ve been debating if I should add more stars to the turquoise panel, near the top, what do you all think? Dots, sparkles, stars, constellation, or just nothing?
This is so lovely 😍

7//29: I went to the cafe! It was no stress at all lol and it was just as awesome as I expected! The desks were a little small but they had cherry pie tea which I will definitely be trying next time. I planned my week out and also the study that I’ll have to do for my drivers test. More pics to come, I took so many here ☁️
