lliypotter:
âMary! âââ A pause ensued as the girl waits for a response, her step quickening as the brunette-crowned figure slowly distorted into a more realistic size. As Lily drew closer, she called out again, her voice vaguely less ferocious this time. âIs that you?â Naturally, the question posed was one that did not require an answer; she knew the lone figure was Mary. Years of friendship imprinted a petite image of the girl, clear and sharp within Lilyâs mind. Lacking any form of elegance whatsoever, long strides were made in effort to catch up with the waiting witch, her far too loose ( yet irresistibly comfortable ) clothing allowing an easy solution.
After beats of bare, solitary moments, locks of burning red tipped wayward as Lily cocked her head, bright smile gleaming her lips; a stark and hardly believable contrast once paired with the dark eyes and loose appearance of herself. Though she would simply insist casual was best, the above were far from casual and, quite frankly, bordered on mental. Nonetheless, the point stood loud and clear ââ she looked like s h i t. Naturally, none of that stopped her from returning the look of sympathy with one of her own, equally rivaled, yet herâs held a twinge of a grimace.
âDonât give me that look, MacDonald. Neither of us are exactly the pioneers of the pageant.â
It was still strange to her, to recognize another personâs voice so easily. Having friends at all was strange to her. But Lily was one of the few people that Mary didnât actively try to annoy and that made her special- that guaranteed her and her voice a special spot in her mind that she always had easy access to. Turning to stop and wait for the redhead to catch up, Mary tilted her head to the side, snapping an answer back to her. âObviously.â The word was venomous, like most things were with the tiny brunette, but her expression was that of placidity, easy smile settling on her lips.Â
She waited for Lily to join her while tapping her foot, the chains on her ever present combat boots jingling from the movement. Arching a brow at her friendâs appearance, her gaze traveled to the redheadâs. âRough night, Lil?â She asked, linking arms with her as she came into reach. It was a common misconception that Mary wasnât affectionate. She was very touchy-feely with those she liked- she just hated about 98% of the people she ever came in contact with. She laughed, bumping her hip against Lilyâs as she dragged her forward. âThere was no look! It was an observation. You look like hell. Well, as much like hell as Lily Potter is capable of. And no judgement, ginge. I did my makeup before venturing out for more booze, see?â She wiggled her brows, very proud of the dark black color smeared on her lips and sharp, deep red eye liner that adored her eyes.
