Cintiq Companion (2014/2015)

ever saw that shiny great hybrid that lets you draw on it and has operation system on it so you dont need to plug in your table anymore and you can easy go out and draw and all is wonderfull…

DONT BUY IT!!

this is the second time my cintiq companion is dieing on me :/ this generation seems to have a big charging problem that appears after one year of using it or so. You plug the cable and it wont charge or will only when you twist the cable. my first one was replaced cause wacom didnt wanted to repair it or whatever and now guess what after one year the second one does the same now!

so please dont buy the cintiq companion (build 2014/2015)…..I dunno about the new model (cintiq companion 2) but its hell lot of money for a tablet hybrid that starts dieing on you after a year. I just wanted to send this message out cause Im fucking angry about needing to replace mine AGAIN.

I gave it my everything to buy this thing way back and I dont want people to have the same problem and frustration when they buy the old model and cant access stuff anymore cause it stopped charging….

so yeah sorry for ranting but well fuck my luck with electronic devices will ever be bad ;_;

So much this!

Wacom’s product is so bad I started naming mine with roman numerals, and am currently on IV.

The first 3 died because of their horrible cheap power plugs, which even when used in the gentlest manner would break and stop charging, number 3 died this way even after they claimed they had fixed the problem.

Each time it died it was about a week and $50 to ship the thing back to Wacom, and then in about 2 weeks, they’d ship you back a refurb unit. So every time your tablet died because of their incompetence you are out almost a month of work.

The first 2 units came back and worked fine for 6-9 months before they died the exact same way.  But the third replacement still pisses me off.

BECAUSE THEY SHIPPED IT WITH A VIRUS THAT ATE THE OS!

Got it out of the box, turned it on, made dinner and came back to some weird blue dialog box that made no sense.  And after a reboot it wouldn’t go past the POST.  So I write a justifiably pissy letter to their tech support yet again, and got some idiotic useless response a week later.  Not even an offer to ship me a flash drive with the os files (as you don’t get any physical media with this thing) or to return it again.  Eventually without their help I found out how to do it and reinstalled the OS myself, but wacom have yet to actually answer that support request in a reasonable manner.

TLDR: If you buy a wacom computer at best you will be without it about 2 months of the year, and will at some point just have a massive paper weight because they just start ignoring you instead of providing support.

Lately when my job has gotten me down, I've been giving people money to draw me cute zebras, and it's really helped my mood!

So much fun to just let other artists run wild with her, while I get to be as vague as possible about what I'm asking for.  Every time someone else draws her I think I find some new technique I want to try myself.  I just need more time to draw and less time at work.

Considering that the reason that I had to stop using SAI was it's atrocious handling of large file sizes...  From throwing errors when trying to transform layers, making most information on layers just delete itself, and even just refusing to open a file it had save moments before...

There is no way I'm touching a beta for a program that doesn't test it's most critical feature, and I'll probably never touch SAI again.

Anyway, Manga Studio 5 does everything I ever complained about SAI lacking anyway.

Let me clear this up for all of you…

Many truths contained therein.  

As fans of mini horse adventures we are incredibly fortunate to have had such unprecedented feedback and interaction with the staff, cast, and even Hasbro.  As with most things, the vast majority of pony aficionados appreciate this and conduct themselves appropriately.

But when I see people on twitter arguing with the writers and animators and voice actors- ARGUING their own head canon and expectations from the show, or worse being downright insulting and violent…

It makes you not want to identify yourself as a fan.   It takes away the jot of being part of a community.  Nobody wants to be associated with that kind of behavior. 

Again, most people conduct themselves with awesomeness.  But the ones that don’t really know how to make a show of rotten behavior.

I've given up on bronies, and can't consider myself a part of the fandom.  As a group they just react far too badly to any little thing that comes along, and it's just embarrassing for anyone to behave this way anywhere.

I think the actions of these so called fans have gotten so atrocious that it's affected the quality of the show they claim to love.  There is no way after more than 3 years of being exposed to the constant insults, berating, and just overall rudeness of bronies that the show staff hasn't begun to internalize the hatred that they are exposed to and incorporate it into the show.

I haven't really liked a single episode this season, and you know why?  Because every single episode some one acts like a jerk.  Whether it's just one line, or the basis of the entire episode, it ruins the tone of the show. But it's exactly how bronies behave!

Luckily, as an artist who isn't prolific or popular, most of the brony vitriol has missed me, but the few nasty comments that come my way are about enough to make me want to just quit the internet.

Now imagine what someone who's actually popular faces.

As whole bronies try to offend and drive off the show staff and every artist that draws for them!

You guys really need to rethink your lives.  If you can't actually act in a civil manner, you don't need to be in public.
