Ty for asking !! The royals trio weren't friends with John but were with Sera and Arlo (via remi mostly) and not even from the same region. They were tracking the werewolf as part of a job/study and some sort of glory. The tracking down takes the most time, and once they're in the same place, they kinda figure it out quickly ( Isen is the first to find out, of course he is) and John is being very shifty/lonely. They do become friends after some fights and search for a way to reverse the curse. Reluctantly on Arlo's part.... he has better things to do !
