Because I hate the inefficiency of saying hemoglobin, & making up other metal variants, I have chosen "pyrin" as my suffix, coming from the greek word for "core", πυρήνας = pyrínas = pyrin. So, in the case of krix, I will be referring to the oxygen carrying proteins in their blood cells as either vanadpyrin or vanadipyrin. = vanadium core.

I will not try to estimate what shape vanapyrins/vanadipyrins would have underneath a microscope, hence my annoyance with the suffix globin.
