Billion-dollar mobile game idea i had nine years ago:

You have to hang up posters in dorm rooms according to the personality type of your (very) stereotypical clients. Scantily-clad anime girls for nerds, Opeth and/or Jack Skellington for goths, college football teams for jocks, that sort of thing.

The title? Thumb Tack-tics.

it's like coming home

At an independent video rental store in Hampstead, Maryland, in the late 90's, I happened upon Star Ocean: The Second Story for the original Playstation. I rented it, took it home, tried it out, and was forever changed in ways I still can't articulate decades later.

I adore Star Ocean 2. It's in my top 10 of all time, probably top 5. I bought the PSX game some time after renting it. I bought the PSP remaster, Second Evolution. I bought the new remake, Second Story R, on Steam and on Switch. Still fuming that the Switch 2 version doesn't have an upgrade path from Switch, but whatever.

When I play the remake, I'm having that thing I had when I played the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time. Even though so much about it is so different from the original, it feels so authentic to the original experience that my nostalgia-addled brain can barely point out the less-obvious differences.

ive never watched death note

so far based on osmosis from tumblr and friends this is all i have gathered:

theres a note of death that kills people (makes sense) (i think you write names in it) (not sure)

theres a twink named light who is really gay

theres another twink (looks perpetually like hes just got off a 9-5 shift) who really wants to prove that other guy is kira

i dont know who kira is or what this means

also they talk like theyre not allowed to say what they mean or theyll be shot?

i think there might be a goth drag queen lookin guy in there but im not sure
