Holy shit. What a grouch. It seemed they weren’t too far away in terms of age but he could tell their personalities were not going to blend in too well. River would’ve backed off if boredom hadn’t already struck him. “Yeah, it can be a bit too festive. Even for me.” He wanted to join the parade tomorrow, however. Just as an excuse to possibly get drunk. “I can’t wait for the food at least, it should be amazing. You got plans with your family?” He continued.
the inveiglement of leaving just became almost unequivocal, long tips of his palms draining white to hide what hadn’t been peaked. why did people always possess the need to disturb someone who clearly wasn’t about to have it nor were they planning to. insufferable, but the odds of the outside being so much worse plastered two feet onto the dusty tiles. “interesting. you seemed like a person who would enjoy festivities.” the young blonde mumbled, all prep to take another hot gulp. “no. i’m sticking around here. couldn’t careless about them. you?”
andieforrester:
“This is– so beautiful. Look at all of it, it’s like a movie. Now all we need is snow.” Andie leaned on the barricade, staring up at a large float, covered in pastel blossoms, playing Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers. She’d watched the parade for years, but didn’t believe she’d ever see the outside of that house again, much less New York City. “Which one’s your favorite so far?”
-- “um.” how were they supposed to politely say they had none? the fact they even considered to be here was quite a huge shock. they never liked thanksgivings, being deserted by their own parents had grown the distaste. but she seemed excited and turning her down would make them feel like shit. like ruining the whole parade itself. “same as yours i think.” they replied, their voice passive.
rivcrsten:
River didn’t know if he was supposed to be here. He didn’t feel like he suited the bar well with all the people staring at him as if he were too young to be around them. Was he? Perhaps it was just a paranoia streak. Regardless, he chose to focus on the other things. Like this guy for instance. He drew his eyes up, watching them carefully. He then proceeded to shrug. “I think so. What’s wrong with it?”
honest to GOD they were never a fan of the questions. they were here since they insisted to be alone but it they were something they should have seen coming. tongue draped over drenched lips, a glance was barely flown to the source. they looked the same age but charlie could tell he was nosier. “just not a fan of the event.” they answered. “too much for me.”
dominicxruby:
Dom shrugged as he looked at the Tv. “Fine by me,” he approved, before putting a glass in front of the blonde. “What can I get you?” he could tel when something was troubling somebody and the guy seemed pretty troubled.”
digits spread on wooden table, nose piqued in a short satisfaction. this was comfortable. so much better than the loud events on television. the bartender wasn’t so bad either. “more vodka please.” they answered, bouncing up eyes. an almost smile etched the reserved’s lips. “anything to make me forget about this bullshit altogether.”
justinkurkovicsucks:
“Fair point. I always just thought he was cheating whenever he said he was ‘busy’. It was definitely sex. I don’t think we’ve ever had a conversation that didn’t lead to sex or a really bad fight.”
“i do hope the sex was good enough to convince you he was a pretty decent man or at least not a serial killer. so what did he do? serial killers can be interesting. what’s his m.o?”
nicklas-cooper:
“I don’t think I will. I’m already super behind, though, so this won’t help. Sorry, I’m just a naturally dawdling person. Is that a thing? I feel like there’s a better word for that. I don’t know. Do you want to get something to eat, then, if you’re hungry?”
a sigh potruded from thin lips, this was certainly going nowhere. “of course it is a thing, it’s exactly what you’re doing now. delaying. complaining instead of actually trying to do more. keep this up and you’ll have your head in a rut for the rest of your life. fine. i’ll get one. you want something too?”
jez-not-jess:
“Yeah, I’m not a big fan of my family either. I’m usually with my friends this time of year, but I don’t have an excuse not to go home anymore.”
--- “well i do plan to evade the event altogether myself. my plan is to go cut all contacts, pretend i don’t exist for the day and such. or maybe work has taken my life. i don’t know. not exactly the greatest liar.”
justinkurkovicsucks:
“In my defense, he was really good at hiding it. I didn’t think he was charismatic enough to be a serial killer.”
--- “maybe you were just ignoring the signs given your relationship and such. regardless that must have been pretty shocking to hear. so what did he want? sex, in prison?”
dominicxruby:
Dom directed his eyes towards the customer as he cleaned a class behind the bar. He grabbed the remote for the tv quickly and handed it to the man. “Put on whatever you want as long as its family friendly. I got folks with kids in here, yanno?”
--- hospitality wasn’t something the young blond was accustomed to after a particularly uncommon requisition. digits pulled through unkempt golden locks, wishing there were more ways for him to express gratitude than just a mere mumbled “thanks.” thumbing the buttons, he ventured straight to sports. “is this good?” he made sure.
jez-not-jess:
“Not really. Halloween is more my style. I just like the whole holiday atmosphere.”
--- “i prefer halloween too. at least the mornings aren’t filled with awkward family calls. and just no family in general.” another shrug was cited, posture now more abated. “i do however enjoy the season.”
justinkurkovicsucks:
“My ex either thinks he has a good excuse for not telling me he was a serial killer or thinks he can make up for it with sex.”
--- against their better judgement, shock obliterated in. unsure if they’d hear the words right. “ --- your ex was a serial killer?”
jez-not-jess:
“What do you have against the holidays?” She said, flipping through channels.
--- blue eyes skimmed, pondering their next barrage of answers a bit too cautiously. “not the holidays. have nothings against them. just the celebrations, they’re too hyped up for my tastes. i’d assume you’re a fan?”
jez-not-jess:
“So I should stay off every major network ever? Great. Do you prefer sports or the news?”
--- “they’re only going to make you feel like shit, so yes.” they said, shoulders hiking up and brows relaxing. “go with sports. news are pretty much the same.”
jez-not-jess:
“No, but if you ask nicely, I take requests.”
a low grunt escaped, frustation brimming into a small headache. “i want something less festive.”
festivities. splayed over the screen like the PLAGUE. something shoved in the back of dampening throat. condemning them had always been one of their the dirty blond’s brusque reactions for their family had pretty much deserted him for the last couple of lonely years. thanksgivings were but a sour reminder these days. the bar was crowded, showing celebrations. but lone blue gaze remained on the rims of their untouched glass. “we allowed to change the god-damn channels?”
