I’ve recently become obsessed with the idea of an AU where Cassian was never taken in by Rhys’ mom and instead worked his way up in Illyria as a warrior and he and Nesta don’t meet until Rhys brings them to Illyria during ACOWAR and it’s just INSTANT near bloodshed and Rhys and Cassian already have a sort of heads butting relationship characterized by mutual respect but more begrudging than actually liking each other at all and Cassian has 0 reason to hide the mating bond so he just gets all possessive real quick and Feyre is freaking out and Rhys is like of fucking course and Nesta is just like HA yeah that’s gonna be a no on the mating bond to a warlord thanks and it’s all just an absolute chaotic disaster

So anyway … if anyone wants to write that … (maybe I’ll try to get something together for Nesta week but I don’t have much faith in my free time these days)

Lately I’ve started reading percabeth fics, and after reading We could walk straight through hell (with a smile) by seaweedbraens, I’ve wanted to read something that gives me the same feeling. It does not have to be similar, I just want to check out fics that are the All time favorite percabeth fics

Percabeth AU’s would be preferred, but not any soulmate fics. I would also like any fics that have them as half bloods, as in not in the modern world as normal people, but if you have any recs that are based in the modern world then I wouldn’t mind too much.

Also, I want it to be percabeth, and not a harem, percy/Apollo, percy/Artemis types of fics, thanks!

Just thinking of how sweet Elain and Lucien’s story is going to be and how Elain is going to shift towards our sassy fox boy

My wishlist:

* They’ll be in a situation where they will have to engage with each other

* Lucien will spend more time around Velaris and with more exposure to his sassy self Elain will grow curious about him

* Lucien will grow more into himself, gain confidence in who he is and that will shine through in how he lives in the world, how he carries himself, how he walks and stands tall and Elain will be attracted to the safety he exudes

* They will have to play courtiers and dance together at a social event. Lucien will lead confidently and Elain will relax into him

* Elain will begin to recognize his nearness by the scent of their bond and Lucien’s scent and every time she’s somewhere and her mind wanders she’ll swear she can smell it in the air but it’s just her imagination

* She’ll start wearing the gardening gloves he gifted her and she’ll blush but won’t let anyone see

* Elain starts to steal glimpses of Lucien at the dinner table and notices little details, like the shape of his mouth, the exact color of gold in his mechanical eye, how the light reflects on his red hair, the bronze in his skin, the lengths of his fingers. Hmmm his fingers

* Lucien makes a joke and, without thinking, Elain responds with a joke of her own, starting their own banter. Lucien throws his head back and laughs with a full chest, causing Elain to stare with heat in her veins

* In a moment alone, Lucien lifts his hand to touch hers but changes his mind. Elain takes his hand and places it on her cheek, without a word. A silent permission Lucien doesn’t hesitate to follow.

Hear me out… Nyx’s first word is Nesta (or to be more precise: “Nes” while pointing at her and giggling). Do I think this will happen in canon? No way in hell; it’s probably something boring like “Ma” or “Dada” in a future bonus chapter (just kidding… or am I? Let’s face it, this screams bonus chapter material).

I’m into this headcanon for the pure CHAOS and comedy of it all. Rhys is incandescent with fury but forced to be outwardly happy around Nyx, praising his son for his first word. Feyre is a little disappointed but too thrilled with how intelligent her baby is (idk maybe he starts speaking two months ahead of schedule or something). Cassian starts chanting “Cas” at the baby to no avail — Nyx just stares at him blankly and repeats “Nes” confusedly again. Elain smiles and says that it’s only fitting considering how Aunty Nesta was responsible for Nyx’s safe delivery.

Azriel stays quiet and is the only person to hear Rhys mutter that maybe Nyx was trying to say his own name and that baby X’s sound like S’s. Right then, Nyx screams “Nes!!!” again and toddles into Nesta’s arms. Azriel fails to keep a straight face at Rhys’s quiet rage while Feyre is furiously lecturing her mate via mindspeak. Amren and Mor are sipping on glasses of wine, mentally promising themselves to continue a child-free existence for the rest of eternity.

Bonus: Nesta is shocked but privately very gratified. She hasn’t been trying to teach Nyx to say her name, unlike some members of the Inner Circle. But she takes this memory and holds it close to her heart for the rest of her life. 🥹

(I do not think any of this actually happens, but the Nyx vs Nes sound similarity is too good to ignore. It SHOULD be canon. Think of the comedy, Sarah!!!)

I’m such a hater every day of canon Cassian but I just know the second we get dropped back into a narrative that isn’t Nessian-focused I’ll be obsessed with them again.

Like that’s the secret sauce here.

I want external Nessian. When you look too close it’s shatters. But from the outside?

We’re gonna be knee deep in Azriel’s book and he’ll get mad at Rhys over something and fly back to the house of wind only to scoff his disgust at Cassian pulling Nesta into his lap and laughing into her hair while she bats at his arms and tries to go to Azriel. Cassian will keep one arm around her waist even as he rises with her, eyes serious. Focused on his brother. Body unable to pull away from his mate for even a second. Nesta will pretend to be annoyed but as soon as anyone turns their back they catch her winding a hand around his neck, keening into his touch. Everyone expected the two most ferocious fae to have the loudest love, but everything between them is quiet. Unspoken words and soft touches. Their love is not a thing on display, it is a quiet, constant presence.

And then I’ll forget everything and be obsessed like the little hypocrite I am thanks!!
