Only 40% of the residents speak English in the home and there are 224 different languages spoken. The medium income is $33,698 and in East Hollywood 44% of the households make less than $20,000 a year. In this first series, I am exploring Western Ave and the many micro-communities that border it. I'm starting with the neighborhood closest to my house, the blocks between Sunset and Melrose.
