Major update to my 20L lower Himalayan hillstream tank! After months of aging and plant growth I’ve begun stocking it with scaled beauties!!
Not a really big fan of Cory but I am a loser for collecting videos. Very jealous of those gold plecos. Plus, he shows the fish habitats.

About to get a group this summer and try breeding
Rusty Plecostomus | Hypostomus chochliodon
Unlike most plecos, rusties need to be provided with food during day time because they are diurnal. They are also no longer commonly available as it is now illegal to remove them from their natural habitat in Brazil and, at this time, they have not yet been bred in home aquaria.

Loricariidae is the largest family of catfish , with almost 700 species and new species being described each year. Loricariids originate from fresh water habitats of Costa Rica, Panama, and tropical and subtropical South America. These fish are noted for the bony plates covering their bodies and their suckermouths.
Due to the constant new discovery of fish that have not been taxonomically described, many Loricariids are assigned a ‘L-number’. An L-number is not an official scientific name, but it does allow people to identify various Loricariid catfish by a “common name” before the fish is actually officially described. When a Loricariid receives an official scientific name, the L-number is retired.
