i think evil dead rise was so important because it showed what the future of the franchise could look like. it balances the humor, gore, horror and humanity so well, it proved that there can be more installations, and that they can still be fun, creepy and stylish, while also proving that we do not have to stay in a cabin in the woods for it to work.
