After her glass had been successfully spilled all across the floor, Cassie had no other option than to head bad for the bar to grab a new one. And despite the thick crowd, she managed to get closer, until she was stopped by someone, standing right in front of her. “Sorry, can you move a little? I’m trying to get to the bar. Get one last drink before midnight, hope you understand that.” She said, her finger vaguely pointing behind him, until her eyes took in his features. By that point in the night, the girl was way too intoxicated to react the way she normally would. “Hey, I know you! You’re that guy I met during the storm.” She exclaimed, suddenly forgetting about any spilled drink, a smile spreading on her lips. “I never actually got your name.”

“Pretend I’m not even here,” Judith couldn’t help but laugh to herself as a distracted Cassie looked back at her.

“Right, yeah, I can do that.” Cassie muttered before moving her eyes back on the paper. She was still distracted, but at least, her focus was a little better.

“That’s not the same kind of physical. It’s a lot... softer.” She replied with a slight grin, before unconfidently standing up. “How many fingers do you think I’ll break?”

Mia let out a soft sigh as Cassie turned her attention away from Joe and back to her. And then she asked who he was dating and she was stuck on what to say. She could easily lie but she was sure that Cassie would see right through her. “Well….”

Cassie had to stare at the other girl for a moment before realizing. “No way, It’s you?” She exclaimed, before breaking into a small laugh. “I mean, I’m not really surprised. You look fabulous and this guy is just...” She drifted, attention going back on him. “He’s very handsome.”

Tears burned at Ella’s eyes the longer that she stood there but she didn’t know what to say. How to react. “Are you… are you okay?” She finally asked softly, her eyes moving away from her sister and to the trees around them. “I missed you.”

Cassie had to bit her lips before speaking again. “He never really loved me, didn’t he? Dad always preferred you.” She sniffed, eyes moving back to her sister. “I missed you too. I felt like... I wasn’t whole.”

“You can keep reading, I don’t mind. It’ll actually be.. you. If you know what I mean.” Judy allowed for Cassie to go back to whatever she was reading, before she began snapping photos of the girl.

“I totally get what you're trying to say.” Cassie let out with a smile, before bringing her attention back to her book. Which proved to be harder than she thought, as she kept being distracted. it wasn’t surprising, with someone taking pictures of her.

I’m a little bit more comfortable. I love wearing jeans, and I don’t wear stockings. I like to be comfortable but I also like to look put together all the time. I don’t wear dresses all the time–it’s nice to save those moments for certain occasions and to make it feel extra special. In the ‘30s, every day was an event. And, as much as I love that idea, I think nowadays it’s nice to have the differentiation of when you dress up and when you don’t. I think it makes it a little bit more special.

“Sounds fair enough to me.” She agreed, a genuine smile on her lips. “So should I just keep reading? Or do you want me to do something else?”

“I’m more of a tea person. That’s what gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling.” She replied, showing her cup before taking a sip from it. “At least you’re still sane enough to recognize human beings. Cassiope, but I go by Cassie.”

“I can totally understand that. When I was a kid, there was this very old woman where I lived and she’d always put the blame on us. Even when it was about bottle of vodka that suddenly disappeared. And blaming us surely did not bring back her vodka.”

“It’s not lonely when you’re hooking up with somebody every night. I quite enjoy it. Not being tied down is kind of my thing, it’s stress free.”

“2016 sucks, we can’t get off this stupid island…” She muttered taking hit after hit out on the bag. “What, it’s really therapeutic, wanna join?” Gemma asked looking up.

Cassie barely even heard what the other said at first, only listening around the end of her speech. “Oh no, it’s fine. I’m not really a fighter type of girl. Or physical, for that matter.”
