Bitch this is a life goal, not a warning. If you got the hookup for some SCP space gas you need to share it. Some of us work retail on this mortal coil.
Um, only one or two of my kintypes are fictionkin as far as I know (though there may be others, I suspect I haven't discovered everything within myself), so I'm predominantly Otherkin/therian, but would I be able to join the Discord chat? I really just want a group to interact with that's kin, and probably will be mostly lurking anyway.....
You only need to have one kintype or even just have questions abour fictionkinity
Sorry if I sent a double message but I wanted to clarify that I meant I wasn't trying to drop my kintypes, my intrusive thoughts want me to but I don't -đ
honestly anon I'm not sure what to tell you because if you're struggling with intrusive thoughts you should be going to a mental health professional or at least a resource aimed at people with OCD. I'm by no means qualified to be giving out mental health advice and neither is Jade. Whether or not they are related to fictionkinity, this is very far outside our expertise and qualifications.-Mod Rose
I just wanted to formally rescind this blog's support for alterhumanabusesupport. Both Jade and I have had the displeasure of interacting with one of the mods personally and have found her behavior to have many red flags. In addition there are allegations of her running a cult and abusing someone. Also she put us on a blocklist on her main for some reason so [shrug emoji] -Mod Rose
Hey so, I've gotten into a bad habit of causing myself to panic and call myself fake to try and drop two of my strongest kintypes because of my intense anxiety, it's like I know this is me and I feel like it is, but as soon as I see any art of one kintype or get into a shift that's not that kintype, my anxiety goes through the roof and tries to drop my id. Is there any way I can slowly work on this? -đ
I'm confused. Are you asking us to help you drop those kintypes? This blog is pretty firm on its stance that thats not possible.-Mod Rose
hey! sorta off topic, but I was wondering if one or both of the mods had an opinion on endogenic systems and like, whether or not that's a thing?
i dont doubt that there are other forms of plurality that people experience - the world is big and varied and sometimes things happen that cant be explained
i only have a problem with non-disordered multiples who either a) claim to have created a system purely because they wanted to or b) take resources away from disordered multiples
if anyone wants me to elaborate further, i dont mind doing so, but i feel like those opinions are pretty self explanatory. they are by no means every systems opinion, but they are the opinions i have after being around various multiples for the past three years
Iâm doing a simple survey to gather some information on how copinglinkers feel about aspects of the copinglink community in order to help better make a community that is helpful, informative, useful and enjoyable for those involved.
It would help me greatly to see what each individual has to say! If you have a few minutes, please take the time to give this survey a once over. You donât have to answer every question.
Click here to be taken to the google form survey.
And if you run a blog that has to do with copinglinks, or perhaps an otherkin blog that occasionally brings up copinglinks, please reblog this to spread the word. I would appreciate it very much!
If you have any questions, concerns, comments or advice, feel free to send an ask to this blog.
Jade and I have started a discord for this blog and fictionkin in general! Rules and link to join beneath the cut!
Those who have questions regarding fictionkinity and other related topics or who are questioning whether or not they have a fictional identity are more than welcome to join!

1. Abusers are not welcome. If there are abuse allegations against someone in the chat, please PM either Rose or Jade with information regarding it and we shall review it and come to a conclusion. Please include reciepts and evidence, although if there are none that does not mean we will not take what you say into consideration.Â
2. This is not the place to advertise your services as a diviner or conduct divination on behalf of others. Instructing people on how to divine is welcome, but please don't offer or conduct readings.Â
3. This is not a place to advertise your services in making kin aesthetics, moodboards, or stimboards, as these often involve stolen art. Offering to make playlists, art, find clothing ideas for others, or other such things is welcome, but please do so via PMs as not to clog up the flow of conversation.Â
4. This is a doubles friendly chat, due to the public nature of it.Â
5. Keep NSFW content to the adult channel.Â
6. No bigotry of any kind.Â
7. Those with pseudo-factkintypes (ie hamilton, edd's world) are welcome to join, but please don't discuss these in here. Please no discourse regarding any of that as well.Â
8. No fascism apologism. This includes saying you were just "doing your job", or anything of that sort.Â
9. Please censor or do not use any slurs you are asked to without debating whether or not a word counts as a slur. Please do not use any you cannot reclaim.Â
10. Please do not join if you are younger than 13. Please do not lie regarding your physical age.Â
11. The NSFW channel will only be available to adults and is available by request only.
@nioice Of course! Thats something I find frustrating about chats and servers I join too. Everyone just wants to meme and never talk about anything serious. Of course memeing is fun but it gets very overwhelming and boring when thats all that happens.

Iâve seen a handful of posts about the dangers of looking for âcanonmatesâ in particular, and while I feel they all have sincerely good points that need to be discussed, I have gotten the impression of stark skepticism for most of them. There seems to be a prevailing undercurrent of âthis experience is technically possible but statistically unlikely, so keep that in mind.â And I feel that, while well-intentioned, that tone can be self-defeating.
Itâs all too easy to look at a post like that, and balk against the skepticism. To say, âwell obviously youâre not talking to me because thatâs not my experience.â
So I wanted to talk about it, as someone who honestly and sincerely believes that âfinding peopleâ is possible, and as someone who believes they have.
This post brings up a lot of good points, and I just wanted to clarify that we donât recommend saying things that are wrong to see if someone corrects you, though this does sound like it may be a misinterpretation of advice we have offered in the past. Iâve seen a lot of people lie about being from the same canon as someone and most of the time these people are able to do so by simply confirming every question that is asked. This is why we recommend asking questions in a way that someone who is simply giving affirmative answers to everything you say would be caught (ie asking âwas the dress red?â when you remember the dress being blue). The only answer that should really mean anything definitive here is if this person says yes, as that would mean either your canons simply differ or they are confirming everything you say. Waiting to see if someone corrects an incorrect statement is ineffective (as they may simply not remember). Its not a charade, its simply a test for confirmation bias.
I definitely see where youâre coming from, as simply agreeing with a person is a tried and true method of acceptance or building a relationship on an unscrupulous foundation. Guarding against that is important.
However, I still do have some issues with the âwas the dress red?â question.
This assumes that your recollection is correct (the dress was blue) and your concepts of colors (red and blue) remained the same. This comes back to my false positive/negative statement.
The way it is phrased is leading. It could still plant the image, and while this situation itâs pretty minor (just a dress color), something seemingly innocent could lead up to a bigger thing. So, in the case of someone who genuinely believes the things they are saying, this could have negative impact.
While I see your intention and the example itself is overall very innocuous, I could also see someone applying the idea with less finesse and ending up with more detrimental effects.
Personally, if I were to offer a concise alternative, my suggestion would be more along the lines of avoiding questions with limited options in general, and instead do with something open-ended. Something more like, âWhat color was the dress?â or, what I would personally prefer:Â âI remember the dress and colors vividly. What do you remember about that time/event?â That avoids just confirming everything you say as it encourages active involvement, and fosters more discussion.
Of course, with any situation that deals with the subjective and perception, there is always the chance for confirmation bias. No method is going to be foolproof or without problems.
There are certainly always going to be people who lie maliciously, unfortunately, but I feel that there are also many cases of mistaken identity or wanting to believe. It was and is my intention to encourage more discussion, so those who are sincere but potentially mistaken have an easier time finding their way.
Well if someone is so impressionable that a question affects them that much then most likely they are so desperate for memories that they simply absorb whatever they see and the aame could happen simply telling them something you remember (without even asking a question at all) or with them asking you questions and you answering. It would be nearly impossible to avoid impressing upon a person like that. Questions like that would also include questions like "do you remember this canon event happening?" when you are canon divergent and don't remember it happening. Sharing memories at all could lead to people with that unstable of an identity absorbing yours. I'm not encouraging lying and I believe that after the person answers you should specify that you believe differently from what you asked.
As for the firs point, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a concept of red and blue being the same but the color thing was just an example ive used before to show what I meant by my description and thats not necessarily going to be the question to ask.
I think we can both agree that ultimately yes/no testing and even testing in general is ineffective for finding canonmates, out of all the canonmates I've found they have always been among people I got to know first without focusing on their potential as canonmates. Casually sharing memories and exploring your identities and past lives is far superior to simple pass/fail testing. I mostly offer this advice for people who I know won't listen to that (this is tumblr after all, most of these children favor immediate results over lasting friendships and romances and quite a few of those will act on that).

I saw u guys said a while back u never saw a christian fickin. im one!! I believe that my spirit is connected with my kintype instead of reincarnation but thats just me
not us who said it! Iâm actually Christian myself, albeit with a heretic streak (probably a bit more than that lol)
okay I'm just going to talk about reconciling fictionkinity and otherkinity and reincarnation under the cut so just ignore if you don't want to see it!

I also personally feel that I was chosen from my past lives to be reincarnated into this one because of the way I developed in that life. I needed to remember that, who I was, what I've experienced, for something in this life.
In addition, its entirely possible that there are things at work beyond our understanding of god, ie many universes with their own gods or other supernatural forces at work (like the star wars universe with the force) that we can't necessarily fully comprehend.
also its okay to have conflicting beliefs when it comes to your spirituality imo, at the end of the day we are children of the natural world and while I do believe its possible to observe and manipulate things supernaturally as a human, that isnt necessarily something all of us can do or even comprehend, and even those of us that can glimpse eternity are really only glimpsing it. our vocabulary and ability to understand things is shaped around the natural and i dont think we are ever fully capable of expressing the supernatural using it.
I don't know if this makes sense I'm just rambling!
