My name is Sigyn Iwaldidóttir, Princess of Vanaheim, Goddess of Constancy, Loyalty and Fidelity and the daughter of Freyja, Queen of Valkyries and Goddess of Love and Fertility. I am currently studying at Armour University, after having completed my shieldmaiden training and become a Valkyrie.

Oh I see. My mistake. I would’ve been extremely surprised before but I hear Professor Kitty has one. A bearded dragon is more of a lizard than a dragon. They just named it that way because they believe it is the closest thing to a living dragon.

That is the custom on this realm, yes? To keep animals as pets opposed to as familiars or companions? The purple one that flies around? I believe that is known as a Flock, an alien race that takes the appearance of dragons. That certainly makes more sense. What made you choose that as a pet? Tis quite the unique pet to have.

Oh, so that means you come from Vanaheim, am I right? Yeah, I do. I’m dating one of them and the other, um, kind of hates my guts. Well, I’m still getting used to the idea that some of the mythology we have is actually based on reality, and I always thought Valkyries were really interesting.

My, you are an impressive specimen. Many forget the Vanir ever existed. You are correct, I hail from Vanaheim, more precisely, I am part of the royal family of Vanaheim or rather I was until the Aesir-Vanir war. Which one is it that you date and which one is it that hates your guts? Mythology has to be based on something true, otherwise how would tale tellers ever have come up with some of the intricate details they have weaved?

It is almost amazing how quickly and easily soldiers can slip back into war mode. How instant the shift it, at the first sign of danger, where they drop from civilians to deadly, blood stained killers and strategic people. That was what happened to Bucky, when the rally went to hell. He’d gone in support for Lu, because he knew how her powers were important to her, how much she loved them, and he hated that she couldn’t use them. But it wasn’t long before the gigantic creatures turned on the students, aiming at them, and even though Bucky knew he was safe from them — he wasn’t a mutant in the slightest, just a brainwashed kid from Brooklyn, souped up on knock off super soldier serum — he still went on the offensive, all his Winter Soldier training coming back to him in a second, but now it was tampered with Bucky’s emotions. So he was glancing around at the other students, scanning for any who were in immediate danger and unaware of it.

Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately, given the circumstance) it didn’t take him long to spot on, and he moved forward with the deadly precision of the Soldier, knocking them over and covering them as a rain of debris fell, taking most of it on his shoulders and back before he stood. “Are you alright?” Winter asked, words heavily accented for some unknown reason, perhaps a product of the sudden onslaught.

Sigyn had been perched on top a roof to watch the demonstration purely because she’d arrived a little late and was in her bloodied battle gear but she had arrived early enough to watch the commotion unfold. In a blink of an eye, she’d spread her wings, using them as a substitute since she lacked her Pegasus. She had plummeted to the ground, landing neatly in front of the path of a beam that was aimed at someone she knew to be a student.

She threw up her shield to block it, the Asgardian metal strong enough to survive the blast but still push them slightly backwards. When the beam was done, she had launched into motion again, this time on her feet. She repeated her previous actions, cutting in front of people and throwing up her shield where necessary or using her magic to deflect straying bullets.

She slid to a halt, wings extending again and taking to the air to get an overhead look before diving again and tackling someone out of the line of fire. Her wings folded in as they hit the ground and she made sure the landing resulted in her back being closer to potential incoming fire than the back of the person she’d tackled. When it had been safe to rise, she had helped the student up and pointed in the safest direction for them to run.

As she turned, her wings vanished once more and before she could comprehend what was happening, she saw Bucky charging towards her and her back was on the floor, firmly pinned beneath his body. She stared up at him, dried blood from her previous battle on her face. "I am fine, you need not worry about me, my skin is thicker than yours," she replied, sliding from beneath him to sit up and take a look at his back to see if any damage had occurred from the raining debris.

I have been, yes. A few unwell spells, but that happens to us all. And you, Lady Sigyn? You have been well? Something important must have happened to take you back home.

There seemed to be a lot on her mind and weirdly enough it bothered him. She didn’t know his past therefore she didn’t judge him like a lot of people did. He kind of like it, he didn’t feel the eyes boring into his soul like with the people of his past. It was a horrible feeling and it would follow him forever. Maybe he was being vain or selfish but it also affected him greatly.  ”Well, if you take care of yourself you heal pretty easily but I do a pretty shitty job of that. I probably should but I need an appointment and I honestly don’t have time.” his lips curled up slightly as she showed concern. It was nice. The question caught her off guard, he could tell. He looked down at her as she thought of an answer. His answer caught him slightly off guard. Could she feel lingering souls? “Well, first there was his MetalHead that killed shield agents to rescue some girl, then there was the killing of thirteen agents of this archer, and finally this girl lost control and ended up killing a couple of people I believe.”

Her suspicions, or rather her feelings, had been both correct and incorrect. She had estimated wrong. Her guess was two mass murders when in reality it was three but she had assumed correctly that it was not natural pass overs to Death. When she had first come to Armour, it had been a relatively harmless place despite what it taught its students and now, it appeared to be far more dangerous than she thought. Perhaps that was why Odin had decreed she returned. "May I?" She asked, arm lifting and extending in the direction of his forehead but making no move to touch him without permission. Despite only knowing him for a very brief amount of time, Sigyn found Nate intriguing - judging purely from their online conversation. Particularly now with the new information regarding massacres. She was a trusting woman but her trust for these walls and their staff had suddenly vanished. "Did they catch any of the culprits?"

Her empty, confused gaze as even more confusing to Hassan - he cared nothing for her attires considering the world was a big place. She seemed to be caught by surprise at his question and her eyes tuned back in, Hassan held in place. He was not one that usually cared for strangers, it was not of his traits - but he was now attempting so. “There are no odd questions.” Was his way of confirming that she could do as she pleased. “If it’s within my capability to answer, I will do so.”

It was quite relieving to hear someone say there was no such thing as odd questions for there had been many times Sigyn had received strange looks throughout her life for asking questions. First was when she had moved to Asgard after the Aesir-Vanir war and was learning their customs. Second was when she had first come to Midgard's modern age and was learning their ways of life. "How many mass murders have their been in recent months?" She enquired. She came from a race of warriors, death was no stranger to her but Midgard was not Asgard and massacres were less frequent in non-war zones.

The girl looked zoned out as if trying to concentrate on something bigger. He wondered what it was, but that was just his curious mind speaking. The girl was definitely out it but mostly it was the rude people around her staring at her attire. He actually liked it. His parents had taught him to never discriminate anyone no matter who they are, what religion, race or sexual preference they had. The girl forced a smile, much like those he forced even to those days. He missed the days when smiling came naturally. “I’ve been sick for two weeks, fresh air is better than being in a stuffy room full of my germs.” he shrugged his shoulders. “How are you feeling?” he furrowed his brows remembering how lost she looked before.

Had it not been for the way she was distracted, her smile would have been more genuine but for the moment, she could not muster her thoughts coherently enough. Though, she managed to push it to the back of her mind long enough for a look of concern to flash over her face. "Two weeks? Is that not a lot of time for a Midgardian? Perhaps you should go see a healer," she murmured. Before becoming a Valkyrie, Sigyn was a healer and so naturally, she was insistent on looking after the ill. How are you feeling? She had to ponder the question in silence for a moment, trying to find the best words to explain herself. She did not feel unwell, physically she felt fine. It felt more like a disturbance in nature and the balances, that was what shook her. "I am feeling fair. Though, I must confess I do not like the feelings of these halls. Has there been any fatal incidents recently?"

Nate had been stuck in his room for quite some time between classes. His cough was not getting better and honestly it was getting on his nerves not being able to stop. It was surprisingly warm in New York and he being the idiot he is continued to drink cold beverages when he shouldn’t have done that in the first place. Anyway, some fresh air might do his some good so that’s exactly what he did. Despite the slight heat the chill of the fresh air made him cringe. He zipped up his hoodie and stuffed his hands into the pockets as he started to walk. As he finally reached the common area of the campus he noticed a familiar blonde, “Sigyn?” he asked as he quickly covered his mouth as he coughed.

She should have tried to ignore the feeling, to block out the dead but when you could feel the terror they had felt in their final moments lingering, it was extremely hard to ignore. However, it was something she was slowly getting used to but the souls of Midgard had a different feel to them, one she had never experienced before. Hearing her name caused her to turn but there was still a distant look in her eyes, as if she was off planet. It took her a couple of seconds to focus but when she had, she recognised the face of the boy she had spoken to on the night of her arrival. "Nathaniel," she greeted him, forcing a smile onto her lips but she openly frowned when he coughed, "you are sick, you should be resting."

He walked absorbed in his thoughts - mathematical formulas and sentences from books, millions of thoughts that clustered with difficulty because of the cuffs that forced his powers to slow down. It was all confusing but he was almost used to it by now.  He ran over the last formula, eyes stuck on the horizon when faced a very confused stranger - as much as Hassan wasn’t given to socialization, she seemed lost. Completely and utterly lost, those were ways of distress. In order to change what Wanda called a “hard attitude”, he paused his walkin. “Lady?”  He tested the title as tried to call her attention, not entirely sure if she should be called a miss for her age, despite showing no wedding ring.

She did not register a single one of the people that walked by and gave her odd looks for both her stare and her attire. She had gotten used to it when she first arrived at Armour five months ago, she was prepared for it upon her return an evening ago. It was not until the word Lady caught her hearing that she snapped back to reality and turned her gaze unto the gentleman that had spoken to her. Even as she acknowledged him, there was still a serious look upon her face and she lacked the usual sweet, friendly smile she would have given to any stranger. "May I ask an odd question of you, ser?"

Since becoming a Valkyrie, Sigyn had become more intune with death and frankly, it was slightly alarming to be able to feel so many wayward souls as she walked the corridors. She could not pinpoint the exact location of their demises but she knew that it had not been long since they had occurred. Two different events, both with a high number of victims. It made her stop in her tracks, seemingly falling into a daze as she looked around her. She tried desperately to spot at least one soul but it appeared they were not destined for a Valkyrie's gaze.
