The good kisser comment caused her ego to go up just a little but, but the flattery she felt died when he talked about the clarinet. “Shut up.” She said playfully and as she followed Spinners lead. “Maybe you’ll find out how good of a kisser I really am if this drumming lesson goes well.” Sofia reached out to take the drum sticks and examines them in her hands. She twirled one of them around in her fingers secretly happy she was able to do so without dropping them. “Have you been playing for long?” 

“why don’t you make me?” he challenges. was it childish? yeah but usually his goofy ways always come through for him. he can’t help but smirk at comment. “i like the way you think. you know how to motive someone.” he teases before becoming impressed that she could twirl the drum stick causing him to give her a small round of applause. “since i was a kid it’s one of the few things my dad taught me.” as they reached the room he opened the door before grabbing one of the snares placing it in the middle of the room.

her grin widened as he referred to her as angel. even after countless breakups and makeups, she still couldn’t resist his charm, “you know i’m not one to listen to rumors,” that wasn’t a complete lie, but she had gotten caught up in some before. but she did prefer getting information from the source. “i’m sorry to hear that,” she said, though there was still a slight upturn to her lips that she couldn’t quite force away, “do you want to talk about what happened? or should we just go for a refill and forget about whatsherface?” she said despite the fact that her and jane were friendly. in her mind, her alliance would always like with spin.

spinner didn’t care what anyone had to say about their complicated relationship there’s some things in life he refuses to resist and she was on of those things. “you got me there. i doubt it was talked about too much anyway.” he says though knowing his friends he’s sure they told people about it. “it’s fine i’m over it now.” which was basically true though some days he struggle but he wasn’t about to say that. letting out a chuckle at the name she gave his ex he nods. “i like whatsherface better but the story is pretty short. she cheated on me, i punched the dude, and now i’m done with her.”

“Oh, you’d get one. And that stupid reed would be crushed up in two seconds, I can’t stand it. But it was pretty funny when some kid almost swallowed it by mistake.” Wanting to get the instrument away from her as quickly as she could, Sofia picked up the clarinet and began to put it into its case. Unfortunately even if she did want that ‘fight’ to happen, she didn’t feel like paying for the damages, or explaining the situation to her parents. Sofia couldn’t help but smile at Spinner’s antics. “Well he’s in luck too, I’m a fast learner. I’d be careful though, I might just end up drumming circles around you.” She had no idea what she was in for but Sofia was sure that playing the drums couldn’t be as awful as the clarinet.  “Where do they keep the percussion instruments again?”

“that’s a good starting point. did they really? hopefully they wait till i’m in the room to actually swallow it.” he jokes starting to walk around the room while she packed the instrument up. staying still wasn’t something he’s good at. noting her smile he can’t help the small one that creeps up on his lips as she speaks. “good kisser, fast learner, and cocky.. looks like clarinet really is your only downfall.” he shamelessly flirts before moving towards the door. “down the hall we get our down room.” leading the way towards the room he turns around so he’s walking backwards. “here you might need these.” in his hand he holds out his pair of drum sticks for her to take.

“Careful cuz I actually might.” She looked around to make sure the teacher was out of earshot. Her chin rested in her hands and there was a slight pout on her lips. She was feeling a mix of defeat and annoyance. She didn’t even know why she decided on the clarinet. “No fucking clue.” She answered. Hearing him mention the drums instantly perked Sofia up. She sat up straighter in her seat now completely invested. “Wait we can switch instruments? I figured everything was set in stone seeing how much of a stick our teacher has up their ass.” Her eyes narrowed in a playful manner. “Really? You’ll have to introduce us, I’m gonna need all the help I can get.”

“really? you know what i think i’m gonna go with believing you today, but next time you try playing it i’m expecting a you vs clarinet throw down.” it wasn’t hard to see she was annoyed so of course he had to joke around. “how crazy that’s what all the greats say.” he shakes his head before twirling one of the drum sticks. “i mean as long as theirs an opening i don’t know why they wouldn’t let you and there just so happens to be one.” bringing the other stick to his chin he nods lightly going along with the playful manner, “you’re just in luck he’s right here and is feeling pretty nice today.”

walking through the party, a few paint splatters across her top and onto face and hair, darcy sipped from her yellow cup, trying to fit in without going overboard. but she was a lightweight and knew it wouldn’t take much. she spotted spinner across the room and made her way over to her former flame, “hey,” she said over the music, noticing his cup that matched hers. “shouldn’t that be red?” she questioned, not having heard the news of his and jane’s breakup just yet. @fidgetspiner​

arriving a little late he wasn’t nearly as covered in paint as he’d like to be. finishing off his drink he’s about to walk away to find more when he hears a familiar voice. “hey, angel.” he teases lightly with a small grin before glancing at their cups. “you didn’t hear? im surprised their aren’t more rumors being spread, but me and jane are dunzo.” as he speaks he raises his cup like he’s toasting the occasion before remembering he finished his drink.

her smiled had faded from his response with her stupidly going up to him after all that she’s done to him. she looked down to her shoes and then back up trying her best to keep herself all together. “i’m sorry.” she brings herself to say to him. “i just wanted to see how you were doing and i guess it was wrong to do.” she nervously tugged on her jacket knowing it was selfish of her to go up to him like this.

it took everything in him not to immediately just leave once he hears she’s sorry. she wasn’t the person he thought she was, a hard reality he has been choosing to avoid by keeping himself busy. “you guess? i don’t know what gave you the idea that we’re talking again pretty sure i made it clear that we aren’t.” he huffed. “but since you asked so nicely i’m doing great. never better, actually.”

Sofia let out a frustrated sigh. “I’m done. I can’t.” She put down the clarinet and took the scrunchie off her wrist to tie up her hair. “I’m two seconds away from breaking this thing in half and tossing it out the window.” She put her hands on her cheeks for a few moments, feeling how they’d grown sore at her attempts to get a sound out of the instrument. She needed an extra credit and chose to take band at the last moment. Sofia was starting to think that this was a mistake. She looked up at another student nearby who she had caught the attention of. “I’ve never had beef with a musical instrument before but I guess there’s a first time for  everything.”

spinner had been in his own little world till he heard the girl speak. the two haven’t really spoken before, their only real interaction being a kiss at a party not too long ago. “go for it i won’t tell.” he encourages thinking she wouldn’t actually do it. crossing his arms across his chest he can’t help letting out a laugh. “of all the instruments why would you pick a clarinet anyway? i’ve never heard someone go on about loving it for a reason.” glancing over at her  he purses his lips for a moment thinking. “ever thought about playing the drums? i hear this one dude is a pretty good teacher....”
