i finished ga.van infinity and my review of it is that it's good! there are some rough edges to it (ex. the finale arc felt rushed and more focus on certain characters) but i think it's a good start for the project red series ^_^

while i understand there will be side content to show the connection between infinity and omega.horn, i kind of wish that production time for it was used to flesh out the overarching plot more?

i think the open ending is neat, but it does feel sour that there are unresolved issues. i bet it'll be explained in omega.horn and its side content, but again this wouldn't be needed if the show had a couple more eps.

still i love the characters and reiji is a great protag. also the idea of going against fate/higher powers is so cool! i can't wait to see not-reiji and everyone else in omega.horn!!

I've been thinking a lot about the voice line Castorice has where she talks about making plushies so hi. Here is them making a plushie for me and some nice fluff. Thank you Castorice for digging me out of my writers block hole

"Ah, there you are, Miss Sotiria."

Castorice's voice draws Sotiria's attention up from her notebook. She's sitting outside of a cafe in Okhema, enjoying some coffee as she tries to write down everything she can remember from their journeys on Amphoreus so far. It's nice to get to relax for a little while, taking a break in between the battle against the black tide and the Flame-Chase Journey. She's sure she'll have plenty of good stories to tell once their trailblazing in Amphoreus comes to an end, even if she hates to think of leaving behind the new companions she's met here.

Castorice is one of the people that Sotiria is sure she will miss the most when she returns to the Express, though right now, they're looking at Sotiria alertly, their hands hidden behind their back.

"Hey," Sotiria greets with a smile. "What's going on?"

"Oh, nothing big," Castorice says. "I just wanted to give you something."

"You don't need to do that," Sotiria says, almost as if as a reflex. She's been offered plenty of gifts before from people— mostly when she was back home and stars and production companies would try to earn her favor with different luxury items. She doubts that Castorice is doing anything like that, it would be wildly out of character for her, but it still feels wrong to accept a gift for seemingly no reason.

"I know. But I also know that you've been enjoying spending time with the chimeras, and I already like making these, so…"

With that, Castorice reveals what she had been hiding behind her back— a chimera plushie— placing it on the table by Sotiria's notes. She can tell just from looking at it that this was handstitched, though the seems of the plushie are invisble. It's made from black and white fabric, somewhat resembling a cat with a fluffy tail. It has bright red eyes and a fluffy black ruff around it's neck topped off with a little golden bell just below its chin. The plush chimera is roughly the size of a real chimera too, small enough that Sotiria could easily scoop it into her arms and pet it.

"I thought you might like a chimera plushie to take with you when you return to your crew. I really hope that you like it," Castorice says.

"I— this is amazing, Cassie," Sotiria says, carefully picking up the plushie. It's soft to the touch, with fake fur that's almost cuddlier than an actual chimera. "How— how long did this take you? It must have been forever."

"It didn't take long at all," they say with a shake of their head. "I actually have a bit of a collection of them that I've made myself. Since I can't play with the chimeras myself, I thought that plushies would be a decent substitute."

Sotiria's heart breaks a little at that. She can imagine how much fun Castorice would have getting to play with and pet the chimeras if she had the chance to. It seems almost cruel that someone so kind and full of life is cursed to never be able to touch another living being without sending them to their death. She wishes there was some way to help them, to let them get to experience another person's touch without fear that it will be the last touch they ever feel.

"Aww. Well, you did a really good job. This is as soft as they are too," Sotiria says.

"Oh, good. I wasn't completely sure how they feel, so I did my best to guess based on what people have said," Castorice says.

"You made a really good guess. But seriously, this is so cool. Thanks, I really love it."

"It was no problem at all. I actually really enjoyed making it. There's something soothing about getting to create things like this."

And that's a sentiment that Sotiria can agree with— she always likes to do something creative to help unwind and her get mind off of whatever's bothering her. Still, she feels like she owes Castorice something in exchange for this. It feels wrong to accept a gift for no specific reason without having something to offer in return.

"Maybe I can make something for you as a thank you gift," Sotiria says.

She swears she sees a faint blush form across Castorice's face, with them looking away as they shake their head. "You don't need to do that. I just thought you would appreciate this."

"Okay, I don't have to, but I'd like to. I don't have a ton of my stuff to make movies here, but I'll figure something out," Sotiria replies. Then a thought suddenly pops into her head. "Oh, and in the mean time, if you'd like, maybe I could show you one of the movies I've made before? Or one of the ones I like. That way you can see a little bit of what things are like on— outside of here. Where I'm from."

"Really? You could do that?" Castorice asks, curiosity lacing her usually flat tone of voice.

"Yeah, sure. I've got a bunch of them saved on my phone, we'd just have to figure out a way to project it onto something bigger so you can see things better," Sotiria says. "Oh, and, uh, you probably shouldn't tell Aglaea I'm showing them to you since she's not big on people sharing stuff from outside of here. I don't want to make her mad."

"I don't think she could get mad at you," Castorice says. There's something unusual in her voice this time, though Sotiria isn't quite sure what to make of it. "But that would be nice. I would love to see something you've made."

"Cool," Sotiria says. Maybe she can make some snacks for them to share while they watch something too. She hasn't had the chance to watch a movie with someone else in a while, and even if it's less exciting for her to watch her own works, it should be nice to get to watch something with Castorice and hear what they think. "Tomorrow evening, maybe?"

"That would be nice," Castorice says, a warm smile lighting up her face that makes Sotiria's heart skip a beat in her chest.

"Great. Then, uh, if you want I can put together, like, a list of my movies and what they're about. And then you can let me know if there's one you'd be into."

Castorice shakes their head. "You should pick whichever your favorite movie you've made is. I think I'll enjoy anything you decide on."

"Okay," Sotiria says, and already her mind starts spinning, trying to figure out what might be the best bet for them to watch together. They have plenty of options to choose from, but she wants to make sure she picks the perfect film. "I'll let you know once I get everything nailed down more."

"I'll look forward to it," Castorice says.

And as Sotiria's fingers idly fiddle with the fur of her new chimera plushie, she knows that she'll be looking forward to spending more time with Castorice too.

No, stupid non-Asian baby… You absolutely cannot be against RPF (real person fiction) and also choose to identify as a “gachikoi” or “riako” in the context of your “yumeshipping”; the two are fucking mutually exclusive. Get. That. In. Your. Head. Now.

Maybe… Just maybe!! We should put our thinking caps on for a moment and actually bother to look into and educate ourselves on the terms we’re using and the toxic subcultures they originated from before blindly using them simply for sounding “cuter” and “more aesthetically pleasing”???

Perhaps there’s some very negative connotations linked to those labels that you wouldn’t want to be tied to out of mere ignorance. Especially if you claim to be against the very things they sand for. 🙃

But yeah, I'm begging you to please stop using terms that are heavily tied to extremely obsessive and parasocial fan cultures, which have historically been linked to actual real-world crimes like stalking, harassment, assault, and even murder in some cases. Show a sliver of respect to the idols and celebrities who have fallen victim and been lost due to the violence such subcultures actively encourage!!!

These labels have absolutely no place in self-shipping spaces!! Along with the constant inescapable usage of Japanese terms that have taken over and pushed many of us out due to rightful discomfort!! Learn to listen when others speak up on these issues and change your vocabulary for the better, thanks!
