Session 11 complete.
The party found itself first in a Welton eatery, Longhowl Lodge, in quite a serious discussion. They spoke on topics of character pasts and recent character reveals. One from a grand time long ago where they took care of and lived in the now gone World Tree, Ysmyrra of Adage’dohi. The other confessing they were not a cleric but instead a rogue. Then expressing reason for some of their mischief to boot.
Once these revelations came to pass they decided collectively to visit the strange sleeping meadow before focusing attention on Welton’s festival.
Together they walked through darkened town as night quickly fell. The wizard provided light illumination and the cleric gave guidance. Once at the edge of town they found it - the meadow. Icy was hesitant to go and eventually crumbled due to its effects. Starke was not bothered. Ollegak was challenged but made it. Thrain being kind and who had made it went back for Icy. Guidance cast again and a cheer from the others and she made it!
Through the meadow they went until they happened upon the darkened cottage. The door was slightly ajar. They open it and step in but as soon as the Crimson. Tear Earring crosses the threshold - SLAM. The door shuts locking Icy out and the rest in. Neither side could hear each other. Then Icy quick on her feet and in mind picked the lock sending its magical discharge back into it and making it explode away.
Before going in her new company Stoney the Stone Toad from Weltons outskirts forest protested and demanded to be left out. It sensed danger and evil not to mention noticing the other stone rock in the party, a stone of calling, wasn’t working in the cottage. After some back and forth with Icy it was decided they’d part for now with the stone or calling and Stoney being left outside by the cottage to wait and get help if needed.
Inside they all went minus a stone toad. They found a creepy under dwelling where a familiar was called from the wizard. A soft glow first from the corners of the room then the under cobble gave illumination. They found a painting bleeding from it and again found the painting elsewhere but with life like textures. They decided with the earring calming to leave and investigate elsewhere. Each probe left a small mark on whomever attempted to investigate.
Upstairs the group stopped. Before them was a clearly expanding and crunching hallway where doors appeared and disappeared depending on the halls length. They eventually decided on a door that was only shown during the expanse and without much prep they went in.
Inside they found a gruesome though unsurprising site for a dhampir. It was a room of unlabeled vats, a cutting table that had a mix of body parts at it, and another table with more of the earrings. Finally, tucked in a corner was a chest.
Being curious and interested Icy picked the chest lock with ease. Inside was a horrific stench and sight to be had. Immediately the party decided to burn the contents of vile revulsion. As they did so Thrain was taken aback so much he became petrified by fear. Starke shaken in the light of the fire noticed a flicker that didn’t bounce right. He turned and out just passed the light behind them, blocking the only doorway, was something. Someone one. The party next session will meet the cottage’s security, The Hallow Warden.
