Being a DM is hard because on one side I have 2 players doing a Venom interpretation where the symbiote is a god who is trying to reawaken his goddess wife and is the other player's patron but also can possess that player whenever they want but this play is a warlock under the guise of a bard with 2 levels in warlock and 1 in bard and is trying to save the party while at the same time being their downfall

And on the other side

A Genasi whos... just doing a distribution program (my idea)

I dont dislike this. Its just VERY different playstyles

Made two very important discoveries today: that the Slay the Princess soundtrack has some perfect fits for the Strahd playlist, and that I can use my phone to control which song is playing on another device. I am very much looking forward to jumpscaring my party with Eyes On Me.

On an unrelated note, I have less than 24 hours to figure out a stat block for the rat-polymorphed-into-a-human, specifically his performance bonus.

This is relevant because the party doesn’t actually know he started out as a rat.

My only gripe with Dungeon Meshi is that I, a DM, now has even more unrealistic expectation for my players' puzzle solving abilities due to the clever ways Laios' party kills monsters. But then I remember it took my party 50 minutes to light a lantern to solve a puzzle.

I found out two of my coworkers. Both younger than me by 7-10 years are very interested in playing DND. One has only played once. The other not at all but really wants to...neither of them have friends that want to play (the younger one has really shitty friends apparently: her words, not mine)

My hyper fixation has been triggered and I have become Dungeon Mom 😭 making sure they have all the resources. I just don't have time to run another campaign right now but I might host a one shot for them.
