So I know what you’re thinking
classicallyclarington:
How could I be bored by such jubilant linguistic excess?
I’m afraid there’s no metaphor here. Just putting the finishing touches on closing a very, very old business deal. A mistake from when I was your age.
I was hoping for a metaphor.
Would it be uncouth of me to ask which mistake? COCK, or continuing to uphold yourself as a prominent old-family Bloodline in a society nearly bursting with need for something new, something different?
Don’t get me wrong, Uncle Hunter, you’re one of my closest…friends? I love you dearly. But I really think you should publicly get behind my sisters future UMC Campaign. It’s very…how do you say bomb the earth, eat the rich, not Marxist but damn close? Progressive. She’s going to be great, an actual New Age who supports representation for all.
Not fake, like the Corcoran-Westons.
Really, Atticus, you’re still singing this old song? The Westons have long been a progressive New Age force in the UMC and the Corcorans have done nothing but fight for change since they were elected in the WTC. Just because we aren’t as controversial as you seem to want everyone to be doesn’t mean we aren’t trying to do good things. But of course you don’t have the capacity to realize that.
Judge Clarington, while I do know that your father and your family before him may have had... questionable views, I do believe the work you have done with the IJC shows a good balance of upholding yourself to tradition while still trying to make the world a better place. Not everyone needs to have their good deeds flashed in everyone’s face like a big neon sign. Quiet change from within is best, right?
