/ ask and ye shall receive!
who is more excited for halloween?: both of them omg. they’d be the couple that goes all out on the decorations and the candy for trick or treaters. Also they’d get the cutest costumes for baby celice to wear.who gives the best gifts?: I’d like to say they’d both appreciate whatever gifts that they’d give each other. deirdre’s definitely more simplistic than sigurd is, but that’s a minor difference. whatever she gives to sigurd is treated like gold to him.who sings along to the radio the loudest?: sigurd the fuckin nerd omgwho actually finishes a book they’ve started?: deirdrewho falls asleep during a movie?: i don’t think either of them would. sigurd would watch to the end no matter how good or bad it was and deirdre would feel bad if she just dozed off and not know what happens. so neither.who plans a surprise getaway vacation?: sigurd! he’d make all the stops to make it a good surprise and be romantic as hell about it.who comes home with useless decorative knick knacks for the house every single day?: deirdre… lol… if she sees something interesting she’s taking it home with her. cue the sweatdrops from sigurd.who takes more pictures?: dEIRDRE TAKES ALL THE PICTURES OF HER BOYS.who likes baths? who likes showers?: deirdre’s more of a bath person since she’s used to actually getting in the water to wash herself. sigurd is technically more of a shower person, but he’s okay with both.who keeps a weekly planner?: oifaye. uh, most likely deirdre.who actually watches the discovery channel?: deirdrewho brings up having kids first?: sigurd at first, but he takes his time on the subject since he knows deirdre is very hesitant about the idea. they finally get settled on the subject once he knows that she’s relatively comfortable with it.who fixes things around the house when they break?: deirdre with the minor things, with oifaye and shanan’s help because they want to help her out. with the serious things like fixing the pipes and shit? sigurd.who leaves their dirty towels on the floor?: surprisingly? deirdre. but only when she’s distracted.who makes the coffee in the morning?: when one is out cold, the other makes the tea and coffee to wake them up.who gets jealous over very petty things?: hmm… i’d say sigurd most likely, but he wouldn’t think so. they’re not really jealous people.who exercises more?: sigurd. you don’t get skills and a body like that doing nothing. pls.who starts listening to christmas music in october?: si… gurd…. lol. well, most likely him. with deirdre in the background shaking her head like ‘sigurd pls wait until halloween’s over.’who actually reads the newspaper?: sigurd

seisennozetsubou:
“Powerless… to change it…” Why did those words affect him so much? Watching Sigurd mourn for the loss of his father, of course he wasn’t in the best mental state… but something about those words haunted Levin. They sounded hopeless, and watching Sigurd stare blankly at nothing in particular just felt so wrong. It wasn’t like him at all, and the happy demeanor the older male used to wear when they met seemed to fade more and more. It was a tense battle, but the lack of a smile on Sigurd’s face replaced by a forlorn and tense look was nearly heartbreaking.
The room was so quiet now that Levin could hear his own heart. Nervousness. Something was wrong, and he could feel it. It was almost as if everyone had changed suddenly, and not even his music as a “bard” could cheer anyone up. Back when he was running away from his responsibilities, everything was so easy and simple. There wasn’t much to think about. Now something was constantly on his mind, and he was plagued by strange thoughts he couldn’t shake. Was Sigurd also feeling this? This tense air everyone all of them as an army that made everyone seem to distant?
Nothing was as it was before. It was as if the air itself had changed, and warped into something suffocating. If they won this battle… what would happen? From Sigurd’s words, all he could think of was darkness. That death would come for them and invite them, but without decline being taken for an answer. Even for Levin, being casual and carefree like he used to was just a chore now.
“Sigurd… Don’t tell me you’ve given up… Hey, look… we gotta fight! Grandbell’s might against ours isn’t going to be easy to handle. You need to focus… …right?” Words were failing him. His sentence trailed off, not because he unsure if Sigurd was listening, but he didn’t want to instill false hope in anyone. Not Sigurd, and not himself. It wasn’t hope he felt. It was some kind of impending doom, and he couldn’t shake the thought or feeling. He couldn’t use those hopeful words. “…I’m really sorry about your father. I can’t even begin to think of what I’d do if I had lost my mother back in that civil war in Silesia. I won’t say I understand how you feel, and I won’t tell you to cheer up so quickly, but… it’s because we’re powerless to change our fates that we have to fight them, and go down fighting and staying strong, just like your father did. …It’s because of you that I realized that, Sigurd. We can’t run away forever. I ran away once, and I’ve been regretting it. If you’re feeling what me and the others are feeling, help us fight it. If we’re to die like this and follow your father, we can’t die shamefully either.” Sigurd’s expression was a killer; yet everyone seemed to have it. “…Hey! Sigurd, look at me! We’re going to stick this out, just like we’ve always been! I’m… I’m not ready to mourn about a death I haven’t even been faced with!”
Voices just went in one ear and out of another; he wasn’t really hearing the words, just voice tones going along with the noises. A blank stare and a grave expression were all he had on his face, non-changing ever since his father died right in front of him after handing over the Tyrfing. The holy sword... Surely it was a sign that things were going disastrous, with them up behind the scenes didn’t help with his raw anger. If Byron himself couldn’t subdue Reptor and Langbart, what could...Sigurd possibly do?! He must restore his father’s good name and make them show the truth of their own conspiracy. He had to see His Majesty about this, and very soon.
I feel so hopeless... What have I been doing up until now...? It was all he could think about. The meaning of all the events that led up to this very moment. Trying to figure out what to do next to no avail as he kept getting lost in his own anguished thoughts. Curling his fingers into fists, there was no thinking straight now. More voices were fleeting and he hadn’t really registered anything that was being said until he heard a clear shout with his name following right after--, “—about a death I haven’t even been faced with!” — Wait, what?
Sigurd jolted upright, his attention snapped back to reality and looking half-blankly at the Silesian prince, his mind just now processing what he all had said that he thought he didn’t even catch due to his own mourning. “...No... I would never give...!” He abruptly stopped short, hollow words getting caught in his throat. What was wrong? The lord was so hellbent on making things right for what they rightfully were. A bit chaotic, but he knew he himself would never pull through so far only to give up the fight in the very end. Their whole cause would have gone to waste then. It would only help the other side take advantage to turn the tide into their favor, and he couldn’t allow that.
This past year...had been so hectic it was starting to take somewhat of a toll on his mental state. First Eltshan, then Diadora’s sudden disappearance, and now his father who was struggling to hand over the family’s heirloom to his son to fight in his place after he passed on. There was only so much he could handle.
“Levin... You know better than anyone that I would never go down in vain. I...must go consult with my king. I never imagined we’d be facing my home country’s forces against my own... This..,” his voice kept dropping below his normal tone, he gritted his teeth then bit down on his bottom lip. It was all because of those two dukes he had to go fighting his own country, and if he had to bring their armies down to dust - that was the line he’d have to cross with no turning back. Mild anger only bubbled up inside him, he tried all he could to hold it back from getting in the way of his speaking but sometimes, just sometimes it was futile to do so.
“This isn’t how it was supposed to go. I would never go on knowing I have to sacrifice anyone! What good is this fighting in the first place if people were to give up their lives?! All of that trouble to try to save all the villagers, our own men from death multiple times, protecting the nobles, and yet...!” Raising an arm to grip the collar of his own jacket with his hand, he breathed out trying to calm down even if only slightly. “I’ve had enough of Reptor and Langbart meddling into things. They must be celebrating now that they got rid of Prince Kurth, Duke Ring, and my father. If they so dare touch His Majesty, they will never hear the end of it from me, and not only me, our Grandbellian people. They’d never have it! Rrgh, I don’t know what they’re up to, but whatever it may be, it’s nothing good!”
Sweet heavens, I hope Cuan’s Lance Ritter reinforcements will be here soon. We could really use the backup. Oifaye and Shanan had already left with my son to Isaac... Things could really go downhill from here on. What a mess...
There was only so much time until they would be faced with the enemy... They need to move as quickly as possible. Looking at Levin straight in the eye felt nearly unbearable, even after the events that had ran down in Silesia, he was...somewhat able to keep his uppity attitude even through thick and thin. Something Sigurd admired about him. It was also something he wished he could do right now...but couldn’t. Levin still spoke the truth, however, he had realized, even if death was so inviting for them to fall in. They could change such ‘fates’ by going down the right path—even die fighting. The man only felt guilty now, just thinking how he could just depart this world any time now...and leaving Celice behind. Sigurd never really knew a mother’s love growing up, and it feared him already that Diadora may never come back and for Celice to live through the same very life he had. Except never knowing either parents’ affection? It was...unthinkable.
“Levin... I’m sorry, you’re right. Despite everything we’ve been through, I was almost too ready to fall apart and retaliate. We all have someone...something we must protect. I cannot let them take that away from us. We should get going to the Phinora castle, get away from Isaac. I don’t want any innocent lives to get more wrapped up in this war...”
❝ ..Huh. Something feels.. off. ❞
He shouldn’t have wandered that far, but some time alone was needed for him to gather his thoughts. Of course, he wasn’t expecting to be followed- just by noting how the bushes moved so.. suddenly. Taking a step to the side, the bard looked over his shoulder- only to see a familiar face get out of the darkness. Well, it wasn’t that dark, but still.
❝ … Did you follow me all the way over here? ❞
Ah... I got found out. Well, I wasn’t trying to deliberately hide.
“Er, well... We kept losing trace of your whereabouts, so I went to check up on you. You’ve been wandering off more often ever since we entered Silesia a while ago.”
It wasn’t everyday that one would see a bard who could do magic, much less hear he’s of royalty, or so Fury had told. Levin probably didn’t know Sigurd’s now aware of his identity, but he wasn’t about to tell him unless he brought it up himself.
Something was definitely wrong here, that Levin had to hide as a traveler to blend in with commoners and the Pegasus Knight calling him a run-away prince...
“...Is something on your mind?”
illfated-heroes:
“Heh. You would always be the better of that than me…”
And it was true. Although Quan was the more logical out of the two, it was the passionate Sigurd who was always more willing to talk out a situation than deal with it with swords and lances a blazing. Ironic.
“But, more often then not, that’s surprisingly true, although hard to do…”
“Hard to do... Yes, quite. I worry about my own neck sometimes!” A chuckle escaped him as he remembered the recent times he’d nearly gotten into a dangerous situation...or did get into one and got out of barely unscathed. But honestly, he couldn’t help it. It was just...in his blood to be that kind of person.
“All of the fighting as of late has been getting to me... It seems to be going our way, although shakily. I can’t help but wonder if there will be a battle where words cannot prevail over physical fighting.
“I am no coward, Quan, but I loathe the idea of fighting a needless battle. Many battles out there are meant to be fought with action and resolved with words, but...”
“Hey there, Foxy Mama.” [ Sigurd; imsosorry ]
“Foxy… Mama?” Eltshan repeated, casting a bewildered gaze over to his friend, ”Sigurd… pray tell me you haven’t mistaken me for Lachesis,” he sighed, raising a concerned eyebrow now, “I am well aware my hair has gotten longer, but surely I still look like a man, do I not?”
“If it was to Lachesis, it would end up poorly on my part, even if I intended as a compliment...” It had been a while since he last saw Eltshan. Sigurd couldn’t help but say the first thing that popped up into mind upon seeing him. He gave an amused chuckle at the other’s response.
“Oh, but that’s a part of your charm, isn’t it? There’s no mistaking it here, you are still every right of a man as you are a knight. There is no worry here!”
[ I should be doing replies on all of my blogs, but I’m going to spend most of my time today and maybe tomorrow playing a variety of FE games since I haven’t in a while. ]
princeofrenais:
“…nngh…” Ephraim’s eyes opened weakly as he struggled to stand up and regain his balance, but the most he could do was recline his back against the wall of the building. “…I don’t know…I seem pretty alive to me. Extremely battered…but alive.” He wiped away a little bit of blood that had trickled from his forehead. “This is…what I get for fighting bandits alone I guess…nngh!” He winced as he felt the pain rush to his stomach. He clutched the spot where the stab wound was, gritting his teeth as he tried to endure it with as little fuss as possible. “…dying, perhaps…but not dead yet.”
“Fighting bandits alone? You are lucky to have made it out in one piece... Ah, wait!” She clutched onto her tome, eyes darting over the area quickly, scanning for any familiar staff she could use. Not wanting to give in to defeat of not seeing one laying around. This man...she tried to not get herself involved with people outside, but she decided a long time ago that Diadora would help those in need if no one else were around. She did have means of defending herself in case of a trap, as for the light magic tome she carried around with her.
Turning back to him quickly, she spoke in a soft voice with a hint of urgency. “Will you be alright here by yourself for a few? I’m going to go fetch a healing staff to help you.”
♛ [ Sigurd → Sigurd ]
♛ : Sharing a dessert
❝ Hey.. Why are you leaning closer? ❞
A curious gaze was given to his doppelgänger as the young lord inched back in his seat. Lovely how it just started when he stole the very last cherry of the dessert with his spoon, taking it away before the other would have taken a hold of it. Opening to drop the fruit in his mouth, he pulled his spoon away, still keeping his eyes on this older replica’s movements.
He didn’t enjoy the silence he was given, though..
❝ … You shouldn’t have done that. ❞
With those words leaving the older Sigurd’s lips, the younger one nearly squeaked when the distance between their faces was shortened. He swore he heard an amused chuckle leave the other’s lips before he closed the distance between them, pressing their lips together much to the young lord’s surprise.
Though, even his mind was protesting about it, his body reacted differently- pressing back as if it was a reflex even if it wasn’t. Placing the spoon aside, he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. No.. this didn’t feel right-! At all!
He parted his lips- only for his older self’s tongue to sneak by, barely touching his own before stealing the cherry, just so then the other could pull away, a playful smirk on his lips.
❝ Mh.. I didn’t know you’d turn this shade of red~. ❞
Just the comment made him turn even redder, sinking back against the seat and hiding his face in his hands. Embarrassing. Very, very embarrassing.
[To Sigurd] Thoughts on + Your younger self 8)))
“Looking at him makes me feel at ease, ...and sad.” And envy. Confusion was flying everywhere in the air between the two of them when they first laid eyes on the other, anger and suspicion had gotten a rise out of them. ...But there was just something about him that struck him as true to his soul. Like he had found a missing piece, but he couldn't quite be sure why that was.
Sigurd had figured it out now, at least he figured so.
“We are so alike that there are so many points about him I have never noticed that might have been there when I was his age... It surprised me, but it makes me glad.” Perhaps it would be odd to some on how he’d stare at his reflection in the mirror for a long time, thinking on how he himself in that reflection would speak to him if it could on whatever decision he had either made or would be making. Now that there was someone similar to that definition, he found solace in speaking to his younger self. It should feel bizarre, but it wasn't all that much.
The memories he had long forgotten brought back to the surface thanks to the talks with him, although that slowly made him envy him over time. Never had pegged himself for one for envy nor jealousy of any kind, as he should be grateful for this man’s long road in his future still. The laughs and the adventures he’ll still have to spend in his own world. Grateful, there it was, yes, however...
He hated keeping his feelings bottled up, careful to not have a slight of a breakdown about having lost one of his best friends, and his entire home country’s faith - the honor of being the newly appointed Holy Knight of Grandbell now ripped out of his hands like it was all a man’s game. He didn’t know where he would be without Alec and Noish, Levin of Silesia, Jamka of Verdane, the others in his army, and kind Duke Alvis and King Azmur who still believed in Duke Byron despite the other party’s accusations of criminal charges on his head over Prince Kurth’s murder. Most of all, the other him, who would undoubtedly get his troubles if he believed enough, but issue being he could never tell him that. Without them, he’d have shut himself away from the world feeling like a huge failure. There would be no way to face Cuan and Ethlin again after all that even when they did know what happened before they took their leave to return to Lenster for their own personal matters.
Believed he would always be alright on his own, independent of others but definitely reliant on others as a group to accomplish a goal. If there was anyone who could give him the best support, it might be his otherworldly self - the one he can’t even be honest with.
It was painful. “...Who knew I could be so dependable on someone for support?”
He was still grateful for their chance (refused to call it ‘fate’) meeting.
It’s not a QUESTION of can or can’t. Some things in life, you just [ do. ]
Thoughts on Alec? [To Siggy www]
“Oh, Alec?” He honestly can’t remember how or when they warmed up to each other so quickly after first meeting all of those years back. It wasn't that long ago actually, but it surely felt like Alec had been his retainer forever with all the times they have spent in each other’s company.
“I couldn't ask for anyone more fitting and fun. He’s bright and is someone I can relax around, and can rely on to get his duties done - especially if Noish is with him. Him and Noish were like a pair, always looking after me even when I do something rather reckless from time to time.” Those two were the people who helped Sigurd keep a good head on shoulders back at home when he was far from being able to see friends. Alec and Noish were always there when Sigurd felt lonely, and he couldn't see himself parting from them even if they had gotten into fights.
“In my younger years, whenever my father left me in charge to defend the Chalphy castle, I’d find Alec and throw small parties in secret,” he chuckled lightly at the memories. Noish, of course being the serious one, would catch them since it was so easy for him to just walk in one and he’d scold them which young Sigurd often tried to plead with him to keep it from Duke Byron. Surely, those parties had ceased over the years when Sigurd grew up and took responsibility upon himself to keep his home safe with minimum guests instead of inviting friends and acquaintances all over.
“He’s one of the few people he has my full faith and trust in. I believe him when he says he doesn't have the power to do something himself, which we take it up ourselves to tackle the task. Together.”
