hooo boy guess who remembered this account
He followed her back out feeling more exhilarated about this small act of thievery than he had about anything in a long time. The last time possibly being the first time he took his own life, before he knew about his curse. It had been so freeing to take control like that, but it had turned out he didn’t have any control at all. This felt good though, it was great. “One is better than none,” he said, grinning at her.
Juliet sat down once they were far enough, taking the bottle out of her jacket. She smiled at him, and shrugged a little. “I can’t say I don’t agree with you, but I’ve always been a little greedy when it comes to this sort of stuff.” The brunette told him as she opened the bottle, and without a second thought, she began to drink. A couple of seconds later, she handed him the bottle. “Well, this is a good one for starters, if this is your first time drinking.”
-smirks- As long as you don’ mine me pickin de lock wit a nail an a bit-a magic.
-shrugs, returning the chuckle- I know like next to nothin’about alcohol. I’ve tasted here an dere but dass bout it. Hahahaha
[Juliet shrugged, laughing a little.] Yeah I don’t mind, as long as you don’t call people’s attention. Oh, and don’t worry about that, I know plently about it, we’re not going to wait for it to ferment though.
So dis isen wunnadem “wait an let it ferment” deals then like how dey mehk wine? Cuz de only alcohol I know of is apparently hidden behine some locked and supavised glass in de kitchen
[Juliet looks at Jem for a second and then she laughs lightly.] Like some glass is going to stop me from stealing it. Of course, if you’re okay with that. Besides, if we wait for it to ferment, wouln’t it take too long?
“You’re definitely not wrong. I prefer books anyways,” Murphy said, nodding when she agreed to let him accompany her. He followed her to the kitchen and stood in the doorway, listening for any sounds of one of the camp doctors coming to check on them, but it was silent. He gave her a smile and nod, waiting quietly for her to take the alcohol they had come for.
“Books are good too, of course there are some shitty books out there, but I believe there are many more bad movies than bad books.”When they arrived at the doorway, and after she realised that there was no one near, Juliet took her hair clip and opened the door with it. Quickly walking in, the brunette went directly to the place where they kept the alcohol. Taking one bottle at random, Juliet left the place quickly hiding the bottle inside her jacket. once they were far away she took it out. “I could only take one, they’re starting to notice that someone is taking their alcohol.”
Then let’s do this!
Alright, we need some alcohol though, I’ll have to go look for it.
Would dere be enough fa two?
I’d make sure of that.
Alright. Dat’s about de fourt coconut dat de wind nearly blew off a tree and onto m’head. ANYBODY want dis coconut?
Only if I can make an alcoholic drink with it.
“Anything is better than a romantic comedy,” Murphy said, wrinkling his nose with distaste. He had seen quite a few romantic comedies; many of the older patients where he had lived for last 7 years would put them on in the rec room. He always felt like they melted his brain just a little each time. “Mind if I come with you? Not like I’m doing anything better?” he asked.
“It’s truly bullshit in it’s finest forms, and some of them are rather creepy.’’ Like that fifty shades movie, book, whatever, that her sister liked so much. She tilted her head to aside and nod. “Sure, I need someone to watch my back anyway.” Juliet wouldn’t admit it, but she actually liked that he wanted to break the rules in his first day. She simply started to walk towards the kitchen. ‘’It’s over here.’’
“Gore anime marathons? Sounds interesting.” Murphy had only seen a handful of television shows, whatever was playing in the rec room, when the doctor’s forced him to get out of his room and didn’t make him go outside. He spent most of his time reading. He loved stories and imagining living a different person’s life. Someone who wasn’t so angry, who wasn’t full of self-hatred and self-doubt, who could make friends without feeling like he was a danger to them, or that they’d eventually be gone and he’d have no one again. He’d always been alone and he always would be. It didn’t make sense to live forever and have to be constantly losing all the important people in his life. He didn’t want to deal with that again cause he already knew how it felt. “You should let me know if you find any booze,” he told her. “I think I definitely need some.”
‘’It's that, or romantic comedies. I’d rather watch animated blood than unfunny and pointless movies.’’ It wasn’t like Juliet didn’t enjoy that though, she had always been a huge fan of horror. What bothered her was the fact that she had nothing to do. ‘’Will do. I have to go to the kitchen soon anyway, with easter and stuff, I’m pretty sure they have alcohol now.’’
“Figures, but rules were made to be broken.” He grinned. Murphy took another drag of the cigarette; it really wasn’t the most appealing thing ever, but it definitely wasn’t the worse either. “So what’s there to do around here?” He asked, having already implied that he was okay rule breaking.
‘’Mhmm, especially the dumb ones.’’ Juliet shrugged once again, for a moment realising that she may had broekn many rules, but forgetting it moments later once he spoke again. ‘’Not much. I mean, I spend my days smoking and having gore anime marathons, unless I find out that there’s booze around.’’ She said, not tellign him the fact that she also spent time practicing with her powers.
“They let you have booze here?” Another thing he hadn’t tried, but would probably kill for. He wanted to forget sometimes and that was a surefire way to at least get a few moments of peace. Having spent most of his life in a mental facility, he needed it. He half-smiled; she was good. “First-time for everything, right?” Murphy finally let himself cough, since he wasn’t actually hiding anything anymore.
‘’Hmm, not exactly, I think it’s against the rules. But, I don’t really care about that.’’ The brunette shrugged, taking another puff. Honestly, she had lost track of the rules and what she wasn’t supposed to do in the island. ‘’You’ve got a point there.’’ She could remember her first time smoking, when she still too young for any of those things, so she didn’t liked it at first. But that was almost five yars ago. ‘’It’s kinda shitty when you first try it, but you get used to it eventually.’’
“Am I? I hope there’s not a welcome wagon or anything cause I am not dealing with that shit,” he said, taking the lighter from her and fumbling slightly to light his cigarette. He wasn’t going to tell her that he’d never smoked before, but it would probably be obvious. He inhaled, holding back the instinct to cough as he handed her lighter back to her, and exhaled the smoke. It actually wasn’t so bad.
She chuckled, completly ignoring that he might find that annoying. ‘’There isn’t one, sadly. But come on, woudln’t you do it for the booze or shit like that?’’ Of course Juliet would pretty much be part of any party if there’s alcohol involved. She looked at him smoke, and being the ‘’professional’’ smoke she was, juliet realised almost instantly that he’d never smoked before. ‘’First time, huh?’’
“Sure, I guess it won’t kill me,” he smirked. “Thanks,” Murphy took one one of the cigarette’s from the pack. “Can I use your lighter?” He asked, putting the thing between his teeth.
She nod handing him her lighter. For a moment she stood in silence, taking a look at him while she smoked. ‘’So you’re our newest newbie.’’ She said, tilting her head a little. ‘’It’s been a while since someone new came here.’’
He eyed her for a moment, debating whether or not it was in his best interest to start what was bound to be a meaningless conversation. He raised an eyebrow. “You smoke?” He couldn’t think of any other reason someone might carry a lighter around.
She lit her cigarette and looked at him curiously. ‘’Yup.’’ She said, giving a puff. ‘’Want one?’’ She offered him one of her cigarettes from her pack.
“Don’t fucking talk to me.”
‘’Wasn’t planing to, I was just trying to get my lighter that fell over there.’’ Juliet said, picking up her lighter, almost ignoring his words.
