protectheart:
whoever managed to make cherry blossoms last for everyday of the year is a genius and nene wants to tell them this. she’s twirling around the path and through the trees, gently running her hands over the petals that she can reach on branches, the usual actions as she leans against the bark. despite the chill of the season, nene’s at complete ease and entirely willing to fall into daydreams in this place.
… at least, she wants to, but the feeling of being in a strange place that can do this only fills her with worry. it’s far too much of a reminder of the canvas world even with the oddities that separate them from an image of her reality to a complete different city and world.
removing herself from the trunk, nene steps back onto the path and keeps walking down. what to do now…? accidentally ruining her own fantasies certainly brought her mood down, but… wait–!
nene perks up fast upon catching sight of a familiar figure, expression brightening considerably as she points in his direction. both arms raise up in a wave before she takes off running towards him (and narrowly avoids falling when she stumbles), but she’s here!
“ t - tsuchigomori-sensei..! haha, sorry, i just wasn’t sure how many people i know would be here… ” she says, taking a deep breath to stabilize her breathing. “ have you met anyone yet? ”
Despite being out of breath and having almost lost her balance, Nene Yashiro looks- for all intents and purposes- right as rain. Tsuchi brings the pipe to his lips. Good. Nothing about this was in the books after all, which he supposes is a blessing and a curse at once depending on the perspective. To him though, it’s all supremely irritating.
“A few,” the teacher offers vaguely, thinking back on the three he’s encountered- two wonders and an exorcist. What a group. “I’m not the first you’ve met either, right?” He shouldn’t be; the supernatural hasn’t even been here three days yet. “Any of them giving you trouble? Make sure you bully them back, alright.” Teacher of the year.
