FIFTY@FIFTY-Tracey Jackson talks With 50 People On Being 50: #42 SALLY QUINN At 70 years old, SALLY QUINN has led an exciting life as a reporter and columnist for the Washington Post, CBS News, as well as being an author of several novels, and currently manages, writes and directs the 'On Faith' section of the Washington Post's website. Married to former Washington Post head, Ben Bradlee (20 years older than Quinn), she stays active, involved and engaged in her work and 'loves what she does' (a crucial element in her keys to staying young). Sally manages to have 'sacred time' several times a week to allow her personal pleasures (dancing classes, yoga, swimming, exercising etc) and advises that for her 'retirement is not in my vocabulary'. Later as a fashion photographer in London, he developed a photographic style inspired by the 1960 movie Breathless featuring the same collarless shirts from Jermyn Street. As a photojournalist his work has taken him to indigenous communities in Africa and Asia where he has experimented with importing local artisan made shirts with natural dyes and organic cotton. The outcome of these trials is the Duck and Weave Organic Philosophy line that embraces both indigenous and industrial production with an eco-friendly bias. A perfect shirt is a beautiful thing.
