Dear @thexfilesfox ! I know that this might be only a bad rumour but letās just make something very clear. You try to shoot The X-Files without David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson and I guarantee that many of us will not care. The X-files is not about the mythology or Chris Carter or the young alter egosĀ of our favourite FBI Agents! The X-files is about Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. The X-files is about their journey, their love, their fights, their dreams, and their struggles. The X-files is about the fans and their attachments to these characters and to the actors.
We are here, we are waiting, we are loyal. (You should really know this by now!!) I mean, come on, 1993 was a long time ago and we are still an active fandom. And do you know why? Because of Dana Scully played by Gillian Anderson and Fox Mulder played by David Duchovny. We love Mulder & Scully and we love how Gillian & David care about their characters. If you take them away, you take away the heart of this TV show.
So, please do anything that needs to be done to please your lead actors and shoot a season that everyone deserves. I want to see scripts that are written perfectly, and challenging the actors. Gillian Anderson is one of the best actresses of her generation, acknowledge that and give her scripts that she deserves. Let David write & direct episodes. No one knows MSR better than that man. Let him do what he wants! Bring back Frank Spotnitz, Rob Bowman. Get the crew together and give us something we all waited for. I want to see episodes that giveĀ me the chills, that reminds me why I stayed with the X-Files for decades. I want to see at least some part of the mythology to be resolved (William!!!!). I want to see Mulder & Scully kissing and doing the deeds. Letās be honest, itās time. No one ever had to wait this long to see their OTP together. Before I let them go, I want to see them happy and together. They suffered enough and they deserve it. Just like we all do.

Gillian Anderson: I did actually have to ask a limo driver once. I got home and nobody was in the house and my zip was up to here and I had to. I shot the door and I was like:Ā āOh my God. Iām gonna be sleeping in this dress all night long.ā So I went back and I said: Look, Iām really sorry, and Iām not..I promise you I wonāt mention this to anybody, which of course, I mention it nowĀ

Gillian Anderson: Would you mind coming in my house and undoing my zipper? So he did, he came in and he goes: āIām sorry, but can I have a picture?ā
Josh Horowitz: Itās an even trade.

On the surface, Gillian Anderson appears icily controlled, but under the cool facade, thereās a wild side. On the eve of The Fallās third season she speaks to Jessamy Calkin.
One night in the summer of 2014, during the Young Vicās sell-out run of A Streetcar Named Desire, Gillian Anderson, playing Blanche DuBois with a rapture that seemed to almost deify the role, took to the stage for the customary standing Ā ovation with blood coursing down one leg.
Her knee had been hit by a splinter of china from a plate hurled by a furious Stanley Kowalski (Ben Foster), and the wound had split open when she dropped to the floor. āNever have I seen a production of the play that was so raw in its emotion, so violent and so deeply upsetting,ā said the Telegraph critic Charles Spencer.
I was in the audience that night, on my feet and cheering what was an incandescent performance. Now, two years later, Anderson shows me the scar on her leg. It had been bandaged up backstage and she thought it would be fine. The next morning, she lifted the bandage to take a look, and āI lost consciousness.
I went so far away. And when Ā I woke up there were four people standing over me. Iām Ā a bit phobic about blood. Thereās been quite a bit of blood Ā in my life with my kids over the years, and I would rather be the one whoās strong rather than the mother who turns away or passes outā¦ā Ā She passed out several times.
