I've been out here studying stones, away from everything I've ever known. Over 3 years ago I set out to chase a plan, make a life for myself starting from the bottom up knowing that I'll owe it to myself once I reach the top of a dream long enough to fasten onto another. While being away, I've proved to myself that you really can do what you set yourself out to do. What a simple notion. And that's just it, life is so goddamn simple, western civilization has led us to believe otherwise. On a different note, during my time away I've learned a ridiculous amount about myself, love, life and everything in between which continue to add crucial bits to my being.
I want to go back. No one would expect it but I so badly want to go back to what feels like home. I can't help but question if doing so would be living in the past or simply craving something of my own? Truth is, nothing would be the same. My only constant is my family and even that has changed. Being out in the so called wilderness can get a bit lonely but that's easily fixable at the cost of a flight.
I've been desperate to connect with others, so much so that I've disconnected from many and let a few people slip through the cracks. I'm at a point where I know what I want and don't want in life, time is limited. The clock keeps tickin' and it sure isn't waiting for anyone though I wish it would make an exception. I no longer spend time frivolously nor do I waste it on things including people who don't matter.
Took a few detours but I'm back on track. Life is good and it only proves to be getting better. Here's to turning the pages in which my focus is mind, body and soul: treating my mind as a sacred enclosure in which nothing harmful can get in, upholding a sound body to keep as my safeguard, the temple of my soul.
I call this chapter detachment. It must be necessary for my evolving growth process.

I'm not naked by any means, I've got a pocket full of dreams.
sound of settling
Feels amazing to have a place of my own. No roommates to share space with. Took a while to get on my feet and really settle down on the west coast but I did it, here I am alive and free. Every 6 months seem to be proving that I get what I put in. Progress has been made and continues to be made. The worst is over. Now I can breathe easy. Now to make this house a home...
My favorite haircut done by 2 different people, my (now) stylist and barber who lined up the sides. «fresh»
Sunset kind of love filled with different rays of beauty...
Keeping my eyes focused on the horizon where blue meets blue and the silver lining has a way of paving me through. #sunset cliffs
An entire weekend spent in bed and a bag of goodies. She's nursing me back to health. #shesgoodtome

If life's not beautiful without the pain then I'd rather just never ever see beauty again.
