It’s been a long time, Tumblr.
Hello world. .
When I say “goodbye”, you say “hello”.
Hello again Tumblr, I’ve been away. Perhaps too long, far too long. (Honestly, I cannot remember.) Though, I’ve been busy. A few weeks ago, I turned 29 and face 30 with a new determination. My digital workstation is currently in repair, as well as a few other very important components to the spaceship; we’re not dead in the water here. Plenty seeds I’ve sown are starting to grow and I’m slowly learning to enjoy the shade, so say I have a few more seasons before my time in the sun. (Imagine: possessing the eternal fire of Summer in the depths of Winter? A icy, cold blister tearing through the night, like a shadow lit ablaze by moonlight. That’s what it’s been like, living in the underneath, since surviving the undertow. Since then, success did ebb and flow, with a aim for long term growth.)
Anyway, I do not have any future plans for this tumblr, other than to maintain it’s archive of thoughts, snippets of culture, and photos from long ago, about someone who’s trying to understand the Masters plan. Oh, and & ....www.artistcraigahamilton.com
Bloom: An Awakening Check out my previous series, Bloom, now available online on www.artistcraigahamilton.com. See inside “Collections” for original illustrations you can own as made-to-order products, all can be found in the shop. Stay tuned for more updates in the month of April, as I continue to expand our universe.
I’m back...?
Wow! Looks like a lot has changed since I’ve been here. Time to make some updates and upgrades myself. Finally after a year, I got a new Mac workstation (one that works!) and I’m back in production. I’ve since released several illustrations, currently expanding merchandise and retail, as well joined a local art beat. Can you believe this tumblr is this old? No, I’ll never delete it, but I haven’t been on Tumblr in quite some time. Honestly, I’ve been busy. You can read about that later. I’m still actively illustrating, now I’m building a business around selling my own original art. No time like the one we’re living in that one possesses such possibilities. Over the years, this and other social media platforms that have grown, and I alike, more diversely connected and broad in capabilities. It is conscious to keep in mind where we came from. This is my eternal art archive, and of the many that I knew here in the very beginning, it remains (still 1,900+ followers after 7 years). I’ve got a lot of new and familiar sights and sounds to share with you from the past few years I’ve been away. Now, I’m returning this present-day, back from the future, from the old school with new tricks and techniques. Having access to legacy format is it’s own reward. ... I’ve got a new website: www.artistcraigahamilton.com All present, past, future. Pardon my dust as I expand my universe.

The DETROIT Series - The Present: Democracy (Demography) (Series I) The legacy of creativity and triumph in Detroit, througout historic past, dynamic present, and the austerious future. Each set in this series describe Detroit's history in series of 7 pictographic compositions detail a statement of Detroit's character throughout the age. Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Democracy (Demography) - The definition of culture and separation of the population. This "D" Machine represents the character of Detroit as it moves onto the path of progression. Commanded by people who make the machines, are in turn made into machines. Each of the neighborhoods of Detroit are characterized as the figures that drive the machine [Detroit], from the base to the passenger at the top. From the blue collar working classes living in Corktown that stoke the fires (and in turn, victimized by the machine itself), adjoined by the stoic technicians of Warren/ Wayne, the vigilant spirit of Highland Park and Hamtrammck, the dazzling creativity of Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Troy that sits at the helm. At the top, sophisticated Bloomfield and Birmingham riding as the aristocratic spectator enjoys the sights afforded by the toil of the other figures that operate the entire machine
The DETROIT Series - The Present: Economics (Series I) The legacy of creativity and triumph in Detroit, throughout historic past, dynamic present, and the austerious future. Each set in this series describe Detroit's history in series of 7 pictographic compositions detail a statement of Detroit's character throughout the age. Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Economics - The state of corporate interests and wealth, as a backdrop contrast on the rising cost of Detroit. This image details the relationship of the industrial capacity of the laborours of Detroit and the engine of progress that Detroit moves on into the future. "E" Machine rolls onward to a more mechanized, industrial future, driven by ideas and corporate profits. Money = knowledge plus information, multiplied by ideas. Of money and it's effects: "What has it bought us?" asks the city of Detroit. At the cost of the sweat, toil, and minds of the people, all for the profits of international globalization, it is ideas that equal profit and the wealth of a corporation is in it's information value. Detroit is where Corporate America began, perhaps full circle, where capitol consumerism ends in the utter slavery of an entire population. At the base, driving the machine blind is the subjugation of the industrial wage slave. He does not know where he is heading nor is he really in control. At the top, the machine is commanded by the plans of devious minds. Conspiring over a hidden design, the architect is bookended by the embodiment of his creation and his obsession: robot, human, transhumanist. #art #artist #character #engine #robot #illustration #ink #machine #Detroit #letter #E
The DETROIT Series - The Present: Trials and Tribulations (Series I) The legacy of creativity and triumph in Detroit, throughout historic past, dynamic present, and the austerious future. Each set in this series describe Detroit's history in series of 7 pictographic compositions detail a statement of Detroit's character throughout the age. Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Trials and Tribulations - Socioeconomic strife and political turmoil. This image describes the division and schism of the American family, the separations between men and women, mother and father, brother and sister. The "T" Machine is the burden of history, the weight of progress and power struggles that the people carry on. Gentrification and all matters of intercity migration, who is really moving in and what are the things they carry? As profiteers sit comfortably above the death machine that is grief, spewing oil and wastes on the laborers that must bear the results of bad politics, bad decisions, and bad blood. #art #artist #character #car #automobile #robot #illustration #ink #machine #Detroit #letter #T
The DETROIT Series - The Present: Revolution (Series I) The legacy of creativity and triumph in Detroit, throughout historic past, dynamic present, and the austerious future. Each set in this series describe Detroit's history in series of 7 pictographic compositions detail a statement of Detroit's character throughout the age. Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Revolution - Period of positive change and adversity. The "R" Machine represents the monstrosity of progression, personified as a war machine that crushes and conquers all in its path. Revolution without discretion, is evitable as the future treads onward. The commander is engulfed by the willful rebellion of what change brings about. An ever vigilant driver at the helm is consumed by the mindless violence and decides ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The machine must be destroyed. This call to arms is a requiem for a better world: "Why should we accept the way things are than to fight for the lives we want?" Respond to your world: this is not paradise. #art #artist #character #machine #robot #illustration #ink #machine #Detroit #letter #R
The DETROIT Series - The Present: Occupation (Series I) The legacy of creativity and triumph in Detroit, throughout historic past, dynamic present, and the austerious future. Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Occupation - Distribution of social interests and labor in Detroit. What is it mean to occupy? When all else is ephemeral, to exist, to retain a place of value in the world is an act of defiance. The contraption represents the cyclical round of triumph, over culture, civilization, society, and its spoils. The beast of change roars on, driving the masses along and then those who cannot handle the pressures of progress are consumed in the wake of the machine's operation. #art #artist #character #machine #robot #illustration #ink #machine #Detroit #letter #O

Each set poetically spelling out "D-E-T-R-O-I-T", as too, how the city itself is seen at a distance. Institution (Innovation) - Foundations (both literally and metaphorically) support Detroit's people and infrastructure. Innovation is a lofty dream that only for the aware is ascension to a higher plane. The "I" Machine represents the power of invention and reinvention, how the will of the creative intuitive mind can soar above all worldly adversity. It is that higher plane is in the change of value to those capable of guiding the future. #art #artist #character #machine #robot #illustration #ink #machine #Detroit #letter #I
