Hey yall I just wanted to come on here and bring some attention to what’s happening at the detention center (really a concentration camp) Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey. There is a hunger strike going on right now to protest the abhorrent conditions within the camp (allegations of torture, maggots and other bugs in the food, etc) and protests happening outside the camp. ICE is not allowing any politicians to come in (as is their right) to see the conditions of the camp. With everything else going on in the world, it can be hard to keep up with stuff going on at home, but ICE is still out here terrorizing innocent people. We must keep our eyes on them, and keep fighting.

One thing some people don't know is that gen ai data centers are also in many places in the USA. Where I used to live has at least one. The water is brown there. It's chaos there. Everyone is upset and hostile because even the buildings are suffering from how bad the water is now.

I lived in that for 2 years. It's bad. It's genuinely so fucking bad. I currently only live around 30 minutes away from there. I'm safe, for now. My neighbors are safe. For now. Especially since this is a small poor area that could easily be next.

So it just is a more close to home issue I'm having than what a random performative dork on Tumblr feels about this.

Every time I see a gen AI video or something, it makes me sick to my stomach. These are my neighbors AND myself suffering from these centers existing.

One Piece has always linked piracy, freedom, and the sea, but this speech by Sabo is one of the clearest examples that really lays out the philosophy of the manga. I think it's really important that after this all three boys say their dreams aloud to one another (perhaps for the first time) which then leads to them becoming brothers. Oda goes from general ideas of freedom, to each character's specific example, and it's only after showing that they're united in these ideas do they forge that ultimate bond.

It's kind of how Luffy ends out picking his crew. Each Straw Hat already had a dream and freedom they're chasing after, them coming together as pirates almost feels inevitable
