there would be a cool unnatural breeze that moved through the cookie kingdom that day,the only on able to do that was the small cookie known as snow sugar,he was walking along the not yet snowed upon hills when he collapsed,it had been awhile since he had ate drank or really seen anyone,he laid there and shook abit closing his eyes just ready to accept that he had given up, why did the candy kingdom have to be so big?
The cool weather had told every other cookie to stay inside, that it wasn’t warm enough to go outside. They’d probably get the flu if they went out for too long. And who’s job was it to make sure that they stayed in their homes? Knight. He was sick of doing every little chore that Princess made him do, he hated how much he was going around doing what SHE wanted. Though he was a protector of all cookie-kind along with Pistachio and he loved helping people, he hated it when Princess nagged him about it. “Do this!” and “Do that!” She would say. He was nothing more to her but just a servant who was only good for chores. He wanted to fight dragons and go out with Adventurer on a quest from time to time, but no. He didn’t even get that. Now he was walking up the hills, muttering swears against the Princess. ‘I’ll enjoy hot cocoa and you go out and do whatever you do,’ she said, ’It’ll be easy’, she said! Well Princess, this ISN’T easy! Maybe if you ACTUALLY worked for once, you’d-…oh?” He noticed a small boy, he wasn’t too sure who it was from a distance, but when he got closer, he knew it was Snow Sugar. He knew the names of practically every cookie around, from Brave to Fire Spirit, and he knew he’d learn a few new ones later. However, knowing that Snow Sugar was collapsed like this, he had to take precautions. He knew this child could be sweet, but sometimes he wasn’t in the best state of mind. Being as gentle as can be, he picked up the child and held him like a baby. “Snow Sugar, are you alright?” he asked in a soft voice. He looked around, it was deserted. He decided to cut his chore short and take care of him. “It’s alright, I’m not going to hurt you. I’m simply taking you to…uhm…not here. The castle, to be exact. Okay?”

Knight looked at the now frozen puddle and back up at Snow Sugar, a worried look plastered onto his face. He couldn’t help but put a hand on Snow Sugar’s shoulder, it was ice cold. Was this really him? It couldn’t be! But…yet, it could also be. He could also feel tears in his eyes, they stung. His mouth became tight for a brief moment, what could he say to him, if it truly was him? “S…Snow Sugar…?”
Snow sugar quite litterly froze up and shook rubbing his face on his sleeve as he cried “k-knight…h-hows the snow dog been…m-maybe we can talk about it over some hot cocoa? i-i remember how you made it that one day” he couldn’t bring himself to look at knight,he was so upset with himself and he was just thinking about how much of a mess he musta looked. it probably started drawing peoples attention to them
He broke. From a couple feet away you could hear him start to cry as he got down on his knees. He covered his face as he let out heart wrenching sobs, when has this ever happened before? Perhaps when he was younger, but not recently. His tears were hot and they hurt his face, he was so ashamed. The attention was unbearable, but he couldn’t help himself,. The wall that he had build with guilt and loneliness had been torn down with a single phrase with the voice of the one person who he had let down several years ago. He was a mess, you’d never think that a valiant, noble Knight as himself would act this way.
“I-I’m sorry…!” Knight cried, “I’m so s-sorry for letting you down, for not protecting you when you needed me t-the most! If only I hadn’t been so c-careless…!”
Snowsugar jolted and whimpered shaking,he couldn’t help but feel so bad to see the knight he trusted and looked up to, break down so suddenly in-front of him like this,at this point he didn’t care if he was caught,he didn’t care about anything but knight at this moment
Snowsugar came over and got on his knees pulling knight into a tight loving hug, there was a small amount of powder that hovered in the air above his back and suddenly a cape appeared which he used to cover both his and knights face,he really didn’t want others to see knight like this,he was too proud and amazing for this
“n-no no!! you didn’t let me down, you tried your best, you fell in a pit you could of died!!im sorry i-i didn’t and couldn’t do anything,i-i wasn’t strong enough”
he was full on crying,he couldn’t hide it
Sobbing into Snow Sugar’s shoulders, he muffled himself and held him tightly. He was right, he could have died. But that did not matter. Not now. Probably not ever. Growing up, he had learnt one thing and one thing only: He did not matter, for the safety and wellbeing of others were far greater than his own. Losing him for all that time, it deteriorated him. He was a building, slowly crashing itself to the core, the foundation. He was never truly been able to repair himself, he wasn’t even fully built from the start. It’s something silly to hear from a knight like himself, but nobody knows about his endeavors. Everything stays behind those cracked walls...well, stayed.
“I’m not the best,” he croaked after a long period of silence, “I’m just some knight, protecting...people like you.” He sat back, hands folded with another. He sounded dead, there was little left in him. Not that he was tired, but it all came crashing down. Calm as an eye of a storm, but vicious in the aftermath. Respectfully, he slid his helmet off, letting golden locks roll down his shoulders. Did he feel relieved? Was he ashamed? Who could tell from outside the thick debris? He lowered his head, holding his helmet directly under his chest.
“I wasn’t there for you, I...wasn’t what I should have been. I owe you, for all the years that passed by and not a single one was shown by my care that I should have given you...such a long time ago. Since I wasn’t the knight you expected me to be, I want to make it up to you. I truly do.”
