if you enjoy my work and you'd like to reblog so more people can see it, I would absolutely appreciate it with all my heart! c: but if you leave a "like" I still see it and it still makes me really happy. <3 you will not upset me nor bring my judgement upon you if you "like" my art without reblogging. I just want to know people enjoy what I make. ^o^
lol I said on my main more than a week ago that I'd be making this post "the next day" and I very much did not do that. xD whoops. but I did finally get around to it.
my main blog used to have the url "fihyn," but I decided to switch that over here and make my other url something unrelated to my "branding." c: this is also my formal notice that I will stop regularly updating this blog by the end of this year, 2026. further details under the cut!
if you want the more emotional/personal side of the explanation, you can read my main blog's post on the topic. on this blog, I'm mostly going to be giving logistical explanations!
so the broad overview is that I've grown so weary of social media culture in general (yes, sadly, even tumblr, though I held out here for as long as I could), that I've decided to pull back from all the "big sites" and stick to smaller forum-based or indie-web sites for the foreseeable future, as well as get involved in more offline hobbies and importantly, some activism in local movements & support networks in the real-life communities I'm a part of. I don't really want to drop this all at once cold-turkey though, because I'm one of those people that constantly saves little bits of inspiration to come back to "later" and I have a bit of a backlog on this account. xD that's why I'm giving myself a max limit of til-the-end of 2026.
here's what you might want to know about my departure:
I have about 10 posts saved to my drafts as of writing this message that I still want to draw something for and post by the end of 2026. most of these posts I'll just add my art in a reblog, but there might be one or two I'll make an original post for.
after the end of 2026, I will still very occasionally post small updates here. these are unlikely to be singular art pieces, but I'll mention things like if I upload new free-to-download goodies to gumroad, if I add anything to my print shops, if I release small illustrated projects for free-browsing, etc. if I do upload art here, it'll be in compilations rather than singular pieces. please don't feel obligated to interact with or reblog these things, they'll just be here for public viewing. :]
if you need to reach me directly, you should be able to do so without issue until the end of 2026, even if you don't see me posting regularly. if you need to contact me beyond this point, dm me before the end of the year so I can give you some other method to reach me by. ^u^ if we're mutuals I might be reaching out with contact info anyways though in the next couple months.
if you feel really attached to my art (awww <3) there are a couple of places you will still be able to find me posting. I'm not stopping art, I'm just breaking up with the "in order for your art to be worthwhile it needs to have lots of attention" culture. xD I've realized I'm just not into constantly striving after other people's attention.
Neocities - at this moment my neocities is a total mess with a lot of broken pages, so I'm not gonna link it right this second. I'll be cleaning it up and making it nice this year, and I will make a separate post here on the blog introducing it and linking folks to it so you can visit it for new artwork of mine if you're interested. if you have your own neocities you could totally let me know and we can be indie web buddies. :]
ComicFury - sort of. I have a biiiig project I've been writing and worldbuilding for close to ten years now. I posted the "cover" page of it on ComicFury ages ago, and if/when I get to the point I'm making regular pages for it, then I will be posting them there and ONLY there. <3 I have a decent career that supports me financially (which I am very grateful for) and am not looking to make my artistic endeavors into a full-time-job, so you won't find me on webtoons or contract-based comic collectives. I do try to support webcomic creators whenever I can, but I'm just not personally cut out for that kind of life. xD I will also link my CF page here when I come back with later updates.
Youtube - eh. I honestly might switch from youtube to a less-corporate-overlorded site in the very near future. like I mentioned above, I'm just not keen on getting lots of attention or making big revenue off my creative pursuits. I just kinda want to experiment around with making video-based-art and youtube used to be the best place to post that sort of thing for fun. (idk that it is anymore though?) but yeah, the page exists for now, you might see me drop rare uploads there in the future, and if you have any recommendations for other video-based sites with fewer advertisements, I am all ears.
and lastly, a separate text wall for the final place: Side7.
(my Side7 account is currently only visible to logged-in users, just to discourage scraping bots and the like. it's there, but you'll only be able to see it if you have an account, just a heads up.)
Side7 is a teeny tiny gallery site that's almost identical in function to the glory days of deviantart - before corporate takeover, before Eclipse, before the cursed GenAI boom. I'm hardcore plugging it because I believe it is genuinely a terrific place to be.
the site looks a bit dated, and as I just mentioned, has a very small user base (so you definitely shouldn't join if you're looking to gain traction in some kind of public art eye), and generally leans more towards hobby artists than professional artists - but the singular admin has been lovingly maintaining the place since 1993 and the features available there are really and truly wonderful. there's your own personal gallery, great forums, lots of customization options for your profile, a classic journal, and an area where you can upload character profiles (similar to toyhouse features.) Side7 supports image uploads, literature/poetry uploads, and audio uploads, so it even has functionalities that could compete with Soundcloud.
A Warning, However. - Side7 is not a pro-fiction site. this hasn't kept me from being comfy there as I don't personally make the sort of content that needs to be defended by pro-fiction practices, but I've read through the TOS extensively and there's a lot of restrictions that I could understand might be discouraging to others. I do get the impression though that this is very much because there is only one admin and only two moderators. The site doesn't bring in a business revenue of any kind - the admin maintains it off his own dime - and tbh if you don't have a professional moderation team who earns a salary, I can understand and sympathize with setting boundaries for some types of extreme content just for the safety of the team, rather than for some kind of pro-censorship stance. notably, the side7 rules state that dark content (rape, incest, beastiality, lolita/shota, etc) is disallowed on the basis of side7 "not being the place for it," rather than the idea that the mere existence of such dark fiction should be prosecuted or persecuted.
the admin does support the creation of more generic mature content and has categories available for that, he is also vocally pro-lgbtq, anti-bullying, and anti-GenAI, and regularly engages with the community in forums and comments. I sincerely respect him and feel similarly comfortable with the moderators, both of whom are very friendly and supportive people.
if you read all this and decide to give Side7 a try, please tell me or message me with your account link and I'll follow you there! :] I've been on a hiatus in the last couple of months due to some health issues, but side7 is one of the only places on the internet I'll be uploading regularly, so I'd be stoked to connect with you there if you're up for it. btw I upload everything to side7. I've mostly stuck to landscape/object artworks here on tumblr, but on side7 I upload those, plus oc art, plus writing, plus experimental stuff. it's a much more complete picture of what I like to do with creative work.

if you made it this far, thank you and congratulations for slogging through my huge soon-to-depart essay. xD if you have any questions you can dm me or comment here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. if you find accounts of mine elsewhere on the interwebs under "fihyn" - they're probably mine, but it's very unlikely I'll be maintaining them long-term. thank you for following me here and enjoying my art! I'll have a few more pieces to drop here n there before the end of the year. :]
I made a sword maker game! ^o^ it’s a procreate file that you can download for free and then play with pre-drawn elements to design and color your own fantasy sword.
if you don’t have procreate, you can also play with it on oekaki, but if going that route you’ll need an account on the CS website to use the program.
okay FINALLY I have gotten around to re-doing "you will find your way" at a higher resolution so that it's a good quality for prints. :] I've updated my print shop; if you were interested at any point in having both pieces to hang up on your wall, you can do that now! :3 I recommend hanging the sun piece on the left and the moon piece on the right. <3
I've figured out that I can re-make these on my smaller tablet (previously I'd assumed the file size would be too big for its processing limit) so I have plans to do so with a couple other pieces in the near future. ^u^ right now I'm thinking somewhere I haven't been, and winter starfall (for holiday cards.)
if you have any requests for any other pieces of mine you'd like to see in my print shop, please feel free to drop me a note or send me an ask! c: I'll make another short post when I'm done updating new prints, maybe in like 1-2 weeks.
a few more revisited drawings! :] I've posted these once before, but I've reworked some of the details (especially with the shake) and am much happier with the set now. ^o^
og titles for these were (in order): "Star Shake," "Panna Rocka," and "Cake of the Ocean" ;D
i think when i started drawing i accepted that i never cared or needed to be a 'good' artist and that my two priorities were to be a happy artist and a better artist than i was before and because of that now people will ask me how to be a good artist and its like. well first step is you dont
everything i draw ever exists on a two point axis. will it make me happy or will it help me learn something/practice a skill. and ive never done anything else and thats working out
your art is so awesome would you mind if i added it to my intro post? all credits to you ofc and absolutely no pressure :3 have a great day!!
hi! I think I’d be okay with this if you didn’t mind turning reblogs off on your intro post + adding a link back to my og post under the drawing. ;u; <3 I’m very glad you like it but ideally I’d like reblogs of it to come back to this account rather than have it go through another blog, if that makes sense. if turning reblogs off isn’t feasible just let me know, I might could send you a cropped version you could use that would still let folks come back to me for the full version.
