god, i wish i could believe in the supernatural

i've always slept in complete darkness. no, ghosts don't scare me and neither do the two haunted-looking dolls on my bookshelf. how could i be afraid of something i don't even believe in? i worry more about carbon monoxide killing me in my sleep. yikes!

i don't believe in deities either. witchcraft, fate, religion, astrology, superstitions, and all that jazz also seem foolish to me. i guess i'm not as whimsical as i claim to be.

even the idea of heaven and its equivalents perplex me. what do you mean a transcendent realm of eternal youth, pleasure, and bliss exists? the concept of it sounds boring too. perfection... for eternity... really? meh. masochists will be devastated when they die and find out pain and suffering don't exist up there. sorry god, i'd probably go to hell for all of this if i believed in you!

when we die, i think that's it. our consciousness ceases to exist, and we return to the abyss.

nonetheless, i wish there was more to it. i wish i didn't feel so neutral about death. i wish i could at least be afraid of eternal punishment. i wish i could blindly trust something divine like other normal humans. i wish i could find comfort in theological concepts.

but whatever

i'll await an eternity of nothingness i'll never be ready for! much thanks to my rationality xoxo.
