The battle is not between e-commerce o physical stores ?
The debate continues as to what e-commerce role in Sweden really is , an extra sales channel to complement the already physical trade or a separate sales channel , which could be seen as a threat to the physical trade . E-commerce sales trend is starting to plateau for the third quarter of this year , something most people think is due to the upcoming Christmas sales that will raise it. During my years as a student , I noticed that the actors acted differently. Some used their e-commerce as a complement to its physical trading and supplied for products from physical stores to customers who shopped online . This was something I thought would be a given , then it is not at all in competition with physical stores . The retail downtrend and e-commerce upward trend is something to be said for that kind does exist , then the trends in the percentage is quite similar ( ~ 10-15 ) Personally I do not believe that e- commerce and physical stores to be seen as competitors, since e-commerce rather should be used as an additional sales channel to complement the stores. E-commerce enables sales to more places where stores would be difficult to survive.
