I decided to try the watercolor brushes in my other art program and I kinda like this look a bit better than my last one. But I’ll have to keep playing around with the brushes.

Also I tried being all fancy and doing my watermark in cursive but my cursive isn’t great. I almost never write in cursive.

Another little human Flumpies. Doodled this up at work on my phone so it’s not super duper good. Kinda just experimenting with shapes. (I figured if I’m making my regular animal versions of them shaped, then the humans should be shaped too!) I thought it made sense to give Flippy (Frank) a bit of a stronger shape for his head, so I went with a square/wide rectangle. And it’s hard to tell with Lumpy (Louie) but it’s an oval shape. I also shaped up their noses a bit.

I feel like I don’t do Frank’s scarring enough justice due to my more cartoon-ish/simple style but I absolutely love giving him them, because there is no way he came out of the army unscathed (in my opinion). I gave him a claw hand prosthetic too! (I know his hands/arms didn’t get sliced off that far up but uhhhh let a guy have headcanons.) I’m not sure what kind of body type I wanna give him yet so his bust here is just…there. Mainly to show the prosthetic. (Although I’ve always seen human Flippy as kinda like…bulky? If that makes sense.)

And Louie’s just there. He loves his husband, he doesn’t give a shit how his face looks. I had a mini comic I was planning on drawing where Louie’s trying to kiss Frank’s face and Frank’s all “Ohh but this side of my face is messed up, you don’t wanna kiss that” but Louie does it anyways. Because he loves him. They’re committed. They love each part of each other no matter what. And also unconventionally attractive guys are the best. We love some healthy, happily married middle aged men here 💙

I am MADLY in love with this design. OHHH THE PROSTHETIC AAARM. I first thought it was his bones and was like "damn, he's hardcore😳damn, he's tough😳"

I just have so much appreciation for you leaning into making the characters shaped and defined. YESSS, SHAPES!!! STYLIZATION!!! GIMME! Ohhhh I'm losing my mind over those scars – actual REAL marks and injuries, not just aesthetic decorative scars. I really love that it's only one side of his body that's damaged, which feels like a nod to his DID. Given Fliq's insecurities, I can totally see him making some bitter joke like "the ugly side is mine".

Thank you, tonight I'm spending two whole hours before sleep dreaming up an 800-page comic about Lumpy giving them body worship.
