Taking up Japanese as a side project for myself has reminded me of something.

So like a long time ago I had a professor that I absolutely adored. She happened to be Japanese American. She grew up speaking Japanese at home but never really spent a lot of time in Japan. She mostly spoke with other Japanese Americans and read books.

So one day early in her teaching career there’s an exchange student from Japan who’s having a hard time understanding a concept so she explained it to him in Japanese and then he looked absolutely rattled. Like in shock. Pale.

This is how she learned that the way she speaks Japanese makes her sound like a gang member.

Japanese doesn’t exactly have cuss words in the same way as English does but imagine that the nicest professor you’ve ever had pulls your paper over and says “Okay listen here you little piece of shit I’m gonna fucking explain this to you. Violently.”

This (studying in Chile for a year) is more or less how I realized my two PhD-having, tenured professor expat parents raised me to speak the most disrespectful and swearword-riddled version of Spanish possible (with plenty of ancient slang I didn't know was slang thrown in). It was like:

Random Astrology Observations

Taurus moons with aquarian influence (11°, or 11th house): Their "comfort food“ tends to not just be generic. The type you see eating the most expensive type of chip from the grocery store, or flavours you have not even thought of buying before from brands that aren‘t mainstream. Also the type to be very picky, usually prefers organic.

Pluto square venus: In my opinion the most volatile when it comes to the pluto-venus aspects. With conjunction it is a magnifier, it is the strongest manifestation of both energies. With opposition it is a push and pull dynamic, whether someone else is involved, while square is something that "leaks“ more due to friction and tends to be the hardest to integrate. This is more destructive within with a square aspect, a promise of leaving a mark to whoever they romantically crom across with.

Libra moons: Tends to be very passive-agressive when unhealed and tends to be very manipulative in relationships whether that is friendship or romance. Very self victimizing when unhealed. Unhealed libra moons value balance to the point that theirselves is their own blindspot. Has a very hard time of seeing or acknowledging that some chaos in their relationships are caused by them. This is magnified if there is gemini in the chart as they can use words as a weapon to make themselves look like the victim and use their social standing to dominate the groups opinion against a particular person. This is for unhealed only tho.

Saturn 10th house: I dont see much people talking about saturn influencing the MC making people look more stern or serious than they think. It gives the same stern look a scorpio rising does but replace it with saturn. I have seen this in younger people who usually get commented on about how "serious“ they look but it is actually just the dense and restricted aura they give off, that can make people who prefer lighter energy uncomfortable, especially when it is from a young person where they expect open-lightedness.

Weak mars with aries in the chart: Tends to easily be irritated and quick to criticize but also tends to dampen down once the idea of confrontation is involved. The type to rant behind your back feverishly and hates the idea of actually telling it to the person.

Virgo moon: What is with some virgo moons and their love of scheduling ahead of time and scheduling every place they will go to no matter if it is just a normal hangout? I met two and both of them absolutely becomes restless with the idea of spontaneity. Ofc depends on other chart combinations tho.

Sun conjunct water mercury: Smart people. But when it comes to common sense all of a sudden you start to wonder how their mind even works. They tend to say what they think but also hate it when people don‘t directly say what they wanna say. They prefer blunt and logical phrases as they hate being confused themselves.

Capricorn moon with pisces Placements: My cutie patooties. Hates when people share their own business to others even if it is only something mundane. But also tends to have a romantic sode to them they don‘t easily show unless they feel your connection to a soul level. Also can have a hard time processing or even knowing how they feel despite having all the vocabulary to do so.

Third house mars (exalted, domicile): Has a very sharp toungue. But I see this manifest more coldly and cleanly with capricorn or scorpio where they know exactly when and what to say. With aries this tends to be more impulsive but very cutting. They also tend to hate people who uses fancy words while not even fully understanding what they are actually saying. They tend to see through performative speech.

Astrology critique

For descriptions that certain placements are associated with, that people project too hard upon.

"Mysterious" scorpio: No I don‘t think these placements wants to be seen as mysterious in the first place, as many people argue that they are actually easy to read as a counter argument to that description, sometimes with a negative connotation that scorpio‘s aren‘t all that.

But a lot of Scorpio Placements are in fact, not trusting in the first place, and they understand that not many people needs to know what is going on in their life hence why they appear closed-off. Some people cannot differentiate between genuine desire for privacy, vs a curated persona that they made up in their head in the first place about these people.

"Soft“ cancers: They appear to be. But most of the time they can be very vengeful actually, and they tend to be flattened into this soft, fairy, mother archetype, when in some circumstance they can be the most cunning and outright insufferable when it comes to retaliation as they tend to be the opposite of blunt about it.

"Delusional“ pisces: I think this one is kind of sad. They see through a world where people who has a more rigid thinking cannot even reach.

Furthermore, this is where personality gets too blurred up with astrology, as anyone can be delusional in one way or another whether it is romance, life, or a certain situation. But that doesn‘t always mean that "oh their 12th house pisces caused it!". Nope. No sign is above the other for mundane matters like this that can affect every single human being.

"Peace loving“ Libras: Agree to some extent. But again too flattened to their positive side, when every sign actually has a negative expression. Sometimes they are seen through a halo effect where people think they could never do wrong, when in fact, can really be manipulative even to their closest circle (and they don‘t wanna admit it) because they cannot sit with chaos especially when other placements in the chart does not have an anchor. Can actually be very self-victimizing in a more socially destructive scale compared to more the more inward-facing self-victimizing tendencies of other signs in their negative expression (honestly on par with Gemini’s shadow). Though really amazing when shadow is integrated.

"Attention-seeking“ leo: Well I think if a person is confident then why not? Why can‘t they shine? Besides most of the times they just want genuine support and acknowledgement. Sometimes they just want to feel truly celebrated too and seen for being themselves.

Placements I can spot from a mile away.

Scorpio placements: Adds weight to any chart. The best example I have seen of this is someone I know with a leo-libra dominated chart yet their scorpio moon adds a very guarded energy to them despite being a social butterfly, she does not like intrusion. In general, they just have an alluring aura to them that you cannot read most of the time. Hard to pin point. Can either look lost or has a tinge of prey-like mannerism to them, like their gaze.

Another example of this is their preference for darker materials. Seen this in another gemini rising who you would mistake as a capricorn rising at first glance. Really hard to not notice.

Taurus placements: I see many similarities with this no matter if it is rising, moon, venus, or even just their descendant being in the 7th. I have a meticulous eye, and there is always some sort of pickiness around certain materials, certain food, or a very attuned behaviour when it comes to their body. The type to know what they want and dont want to eat at a specific moment, and usually they type to know if there is something wrong with their body. They also tend to have a love for perfumes, or a certain fixation with a certain type of material (leather, suede, etc.) Total luxury lovers. If their body feels shit then they also feel shit hence their fixation.

Venus-pluto aspects (tight orbs): Contrary to most descriptions, I find that they are actually really charming. Tend to incite the idea that they are one of a kind whether it be friends or romantic partners, and I do not know the correlation to them usually being seen through a halo effect, regardless of whether or not they are actually a good person. Tend to have had early experiences with love in an early age, tho I have seen this play out this way more if the venus is in aries, or located in the 5th house. Usually also had problems with people getting too possessive of them.

Saturn influencing MC with a strong mars: Will power, a distinct mentality that tends to incline towards stoicism, nihilism, and delayed gratification. If not, there is always something about the way they think, talk, or do things. Goal oriented and hate doing things they think are a waste of their time. Usually seen this bloom as time goes on. Despises shallow matters, can feel alienated and mentally detached when young due to a perceived difference in maturity around their peers.

Aries placements: Honestly no matter the combination there is always some sort of agression or child-like wonder within. Tend to be active and competetive whether that is funneled in academics, sports, or their habits in general. Can be hard to externally spot when mixed with heavy capircorn or pisces but it‘s usually expressed in certain impulsives movements, tend to be agile and quick to throw shade back.

Leo placements: Well apart from liking a presented appaearance, they also value being supported, not just for attention sake. Values community, and values their friends very much, the type to invite everyone to watch them play, or to important events in their life. And they would love to do the same to the people who also matters to them. It can be expressed differently, but it is either they just have a hard to ignore personality, or you can‘t just miss how they look. They can try hiding but spotlight in some way finds them, good or bad.

Gemini rising: Why is every single one of you symmetrical… Gemini risings I have met have a youthful beauty to them, or they look like elves. I could also listen to them yap for hours, even their hands are talking.

Aries rising: A bit odd and random but some of them I have mistaken for being a pisces rising since some of them reminds me of a fish. They look very jovial. Cute eyes. My athletic gyals. Just reminds me of a happy go lucky, or a pufferfish staring at you in an aquarium already puffed up…

Health Astrology Series: Part 1

the 6th house: rules physical health which can be influenced by daily habits and rituals

6th house in:

Aries/Mars:

🔥 prone to headaches and migrains; may also be more at risk of getting head and brain injuries when hurt, or may have scars on head/face

🔥 these people are normally quite active people and enjoy many forms of exercise; particularly ones like boxing which can help let out fustrations, so thus they normally are “in shape” which can reduce many health risks

🔥 more so accident prone, may easily run into things/fall over and hurt themselves that way
