thinking about kattigan holding teor's corpse after the thjazi-is-julien's-shadow reveal and telling him "i'd spit on you, but i know you're down there raising hell with your brother". and it's just like... god, the implications of this.
i'd willingly curse myself so that you might haunt me forever. so that some version of you might stay by my side. but i know you too well. i know you're already gone.

Thimble's self-enlarge/reduce gives me magical girl vibes, so I made another magical girl transformation splash page.
Update on the Mercy Wip
Ranked list of people pissed that Thjazi is hiding in Julien's shadow:
1: Sir Julien Davinos
2: Primus Thaconis
3: Thjazi Fang
Seekers: dead kid, overprotective druid mom, badass elf, bastard man who wants to kill dead kid’s family and will fight anyone who tries to stop him, and Our Lady Aranessa Royce
Schemers: actor the ENTIRE CITY is in love with, mask who is his bff and in love with him and put a hit out on his brother, super smart super cool teacher who mixes metaphors, and the only genuinely kind and good cop in Dol-Makjar
Soldiers: limp wrist nepo baby, demon who is just happy to be here and in love with him, Kimba the White Lion, if Tinker Bell could say fuck, and the drunk Wolfman who is just vibing
Seekers: 4 of them have personal beef with Primus, 2 of them have personal beef with Thjazi, 1 of them is trying to figure out her faith
Schemers: producer of the Greatest Show Dol-Makjar has ever seen, your favorite teacher in high school that was probably an anarchist, “I’ve only had Azune for 31 episodes but if Brennan harms him, I’m killing everyone and then myself”, grandma’s favorite is having a worst time than before, demon realizes she can cause suffering and be good!
Thaisha Lloy: the most Druid to ever Druid in the history of Aramán
Can I just say how much I love how gentle Julien was being to Occtis after the events at the manor, even after their fight? Between his worry at Occtis’ magical heart attack, helping him through his panic attack, putting his arm out protectively while sneaking back to Hal’s house, telling the others to tend to Occtis’ injuries, and jumping to Occtis’ defense when the others were questioning them about leaving Thimble, it was really sweet to see. Also what Julien said to Koral “Your family has taken nearly everything from me and has definitely taken most everything from your own brother, Occtis”, which I was definitely surprised he mentioned. I’m very excited to see more of their dynamic since they’re staying on the same team.
Primus deals death to nobility and commoners alike with nary a shift in expression ("I bear your house no ill will." "She's annoyed me.") He also doesn't seem to enjoy having blood on himself. He delegated Occtis's surgery to Ethrand. He held the back of the cab driver's head while Wick slashed her throat. He pulled Raimond's skull out from behind with incorporeal fingers, leaving the gore. He wiped his chin and flicked his hands clean after Julien cut him.
Yet Primus emerged from his attack on Marienna and Esme with a blood-spattered face and a smile so wide Brennan mentioned it twice. Which could mean nothing.
i'll miss you...
when you're moving into hour 6 of your game and there's MORE you want to discuss but oh fuck suddenly we're all saying goodbye again and there's no time so you have to retract the lil oddly soft shoulder touch you've done like 3 times now to the guy who blackmailed you 2 weeks ago - a tragedy in 5 photos.
CRITICAL ROLE: CAMPAIGN 4 Episode 31: Trick of the Light
I cannot get over how much Thaisha saved everyone’s asses by running the Halovars off in episode 31.
Because even if the dice gods had been on their side and the Magpies kicked ass, they still attacked two Halovars and a member of the Revolutionary Council. The rebellion would be officially kicked off, and they still don’t have the supplies they’re waiting on from Timmony. Azune and Hal would have to go into hiding. There would be no chance of getting backing from the Council, because one of their members had been caught in the crossfire.
And in terms of public sentiment, none of the witnesses would have any context for what happened. All they saw was the Halovar forces walk up to a tavern and get met with a hail of crossbow bolts. The Photarch could spin that any way she wanted, and the Magpies would have a hard time countering that narrative.
But instead, what everyone saw was two Halovars, forty soldiers, and a Council member get sent scrambling by a stern word and a bit of lightning from Thaisha. There’s no way for the crowd to interpret that beyond “The Halovars don’t have as much control of the city as they want us to think. The Lloys, and the Druids, still hold more sway here.” It’s an incredibly humiliating setback for the Halovars, and it’s caused friction between them and the Council that the Schemers can exploit. And for the Magpies, it’s bought them crucial time to wait for reinforcements and continue laying the groundwork for the rebellion.
So everyone say thank you, Thaisha, for being such a stone cold badass.
Julien has become very quickly one of my favs in Campaign 4 over the last few weeks! Just seeing the way Matt plays him and the choices he makes has been so juicy 😭😌
