Very interesting! As you imagine, based on the title of the video, this is a survey. The results were self-reported and it explicitly dealt with people’s attributes, behaviours, and opinions. - Jason
Great find, Jason! Though this deals with people's behaviors and opinions, the claims they make are generally frequencies. We generally conduct content analyses on traditional media but in this case this is a content analysis of dating apps. They state in the beginning of the video that they observed interactions found on the site. This indicates that it was not a survey or a self-reported phenomenon but rather content they found on the app. This makes sense it terms of searching for realistic answers because how many people would admit to being more or less picky or only wanting to date people of a certain ethnicities only. This is a great one for differentiating content analysis and surveys, and demonstrating how content analyses could refer to people not just tv shows! - Nicole
Thank you for clearing that up! I should’ve payed closer attention to how the actual research was being conducted. Also, I didn’t realize content analysis could also refer to people, so I’m glad that was made clear! - Jason
Just so you feel like you can get to know your TA a little more as a human being. This is a really old performance of mine. I’ll post my favorite reaction gif in a bit too, but I’d rather see your’s first :PÂ
