Who says hoops are just for ears? Montreal designer Tamara Bavdek of Thisilk shows how to use this lace-trimmed brass one to adorn a loose updo. Heads will turn.
I am blown away. Svetlana Gordon is simply unbelievable.

The Weavers Knot found via Yet Another Canadian Artisan who says:
I ran across this page in a very old weaving book.
The is the knot that is used in the spinning mill to join yarn when it breaks while being spun. The advantage being that it is very secure and the ends can be clipped very short.
Knitting Inspiration - Quick fix fair isle.
I’ve been feeling the itch do some some quick, instantly gratifying fair isle this week. Something about the increase in rain and cloudy skies makes me want these pops of color on my needles. As usual, I do seem to be very fond of gradations and minimal palettes, and that one with the leather strap doesn’t really fit that pattern but is so fucking cool I threw it in here anyway. I mean, it’s not jarringly different. Squares, pixels, yeah, I’d say that’s consistent.

When I finish one book I never think, ‘Oh, there’s another one.’ It takes a little while to refill. My happiest moment is to be in the middle of a book. The characters are talking to me. Sometimes, one will make a joke I haven’t thought of and I’ll laugh.
