Walk The Line

I'm 19, and I tend to be a bit random. There's not a certain theme to my Tumblr, it's pretty much as random as I am. The title refers to a quote I heard once that went, "There's a fine line between love and hate." It's a line people walk everyday, and the quote just kind of stuck with me. I love llamas, and anything purple. I just graduated and I'm now a Morehead State student. I used to write all the time, but I came down with a major case of writers block. Thanks for taking look at my blog.

like i only occasionally blog about politics, but i do very much believe capitalism must be destroyed and global international communism must be established, so like…. why is it confusing that i don’t want you following my blog.

You may “believe” that capitalism should be destroyed, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t the most successful economic model in human history, and has to led to the most successful civil societies in history. You may “believe” that international communism is “necessary”, but that such a system can’t compete with capitalism is historically evident, that it doesn’t work is well established, and that any citizen with even a half way decent life would reject any proposed decline in their standard of living, through violence, is obvious. I won’t fault you for holding these misguided beliefs as much as you fault me for my correct ones.

No, that is NOT what this is. You’ve taken an amazing medical invention, a total game changer, and made up some stupid, faux-deep sentence fragment for it that is a complete falsehood. You should be embarrassed and ashamed, honestly.

This is a ghost heart. What they’ve done is taken a pig heart and stripped it down to, basically, a cell framework that they can use to BUILD A NEW HEART UPON. You could inject stem cells into this framework so that a newly formed personalized heart can be transplanted into a donor with a significantly reduced chance of rejection. FUCKING AMAZING. It’s not been done with human tissue yet, but the promise this given to people who need hearts - or kidneys or livers or whatever - is beautiful. Science is beautiful.

And it’s IMPERATIVE to mention that a woman, Doris Taylor, at the Texas Heart Institute developed this. And she started with a rat heart and worked up to he bigger, more complex (and more human) pig heart. What a total bad ass.

So look, quit making shit up, learn to do a reverse image search on stuff you find on the internet, and STOP ERASING WOMEN IN SCIENCE.
