We all want to become better persons.
Some people already gave up on their dreams, but deep inside they also want to improve.
With experience in the fitness industry, I’ve noticed 3 things that can help these people get better, one step at a time:
Make that first step: wherever you’re at, just make that first step. It’s nice to get some knowledge before starting your journey, but don’t get stuck on the theory. Because the real hard work happens in the kitchen and at the gym.
You don’t know how many calories you have to eat? Doesn’t matter, start reducing junk food from your diet and replace them with healthy options.
How many miles do I have to run? Who cares, run until you sweat all over your tee shirt, you will feel so great.
Stay consistent no matter what: nobody cares if you workout 5 times or 3 times a week. What really matter is that you plan a schedule and you must achieve it no matter what happens. Mean what you say, do what you say. When you stay true to your words, you will build a habit of always achieving your goals, no matter how small or big they are.
Change your routine: we call this a lifestyle, because it’s an ongoing process. Exercising should be a part of your life, we are meant to move. You brush your teeth, you exercise. You train your brain, you train your body. But never get stuck in your nutrition/workout routine. Doing the same workout or eating the same thing over and over can kill you mentally.
I personally think there is no failure, only lessons. I’ve been in the game for more than 3 years now and I still work on these principles.
Always be a student of life. With time you will understand that these principles also apply in your work, relationships and everything you do in life.
