adelaide darling
Normally, Adelaide didn’t mind Valentine’s Day. She liked the flowers, and the candy, and all the cute cheesy valentines that you could send your friends, but this year, it was different. It was a dreaded day. It was one that she had thought she would spend with someone, but that someone was gone. So instead of going out on a romantic date with champagne and roses and chocolates, she sat at the Cadetina, a themed drink sitting in front of her mostly untouched as she was lost in her own thoughts. She was pulled out of them by a presence nearby, looking up at them and forcing a soft smile. “Are you enjoying yourself yet? They did a very good job setting all this up, didn’t they?”
LUCIEN WAS MANAGING A FEW hours away from the restaurant for the evening and decided on the cadetina being the best place to spend his time. he smiled at various familiar faces as he passed them on his way to the bar. he waved back at rich who waved at him before picking up some drinks to hand over to a couple of the tables for their convenience. that’s when he spotted adelaide, alone, looking, for lack of better term at the moment, out of it. he frowned, heading right for the bar, turning to phil to order. “an ‘i know,’” he said before offering him a coy smirk and a wink. to which phil rolled his eyes and laughed lightly and busied himself with that drink along with others that were called to his attention. he turned around so his back was to the bar and sat on the stool, but looked at adelaide when she spoke to him. “ i do not need you to force a smile for me, ma chère. ” he offered her a smile. “ and we do not ‘ave to talk small talk if you do not want, mais if you would prefer it to talking about ‘ow you feel, we can. quiet is also okay if you wish. ”
