Adam looked at Thomas, nodded at him and stopped by the office door, because that space Thomas already knew. “The door here”, he pointed the door right across him, “Or the one at the end of the hall?” Then he came up with an idea. “Why don’t you try to guess what’s in the room before you open the door.” It could be fun. For him at least. Probably for Thomas too.

“Ooh, I love guessing games.” Thomas chuckled softly, looking over at Adam with a smirk. “Okay so... I guess... that this one is some sort of dining room.” He pointed to the door across from them. “And that one... leads out into the backyard?” He pointed to the one at the end of the hall, tilting his head to the side. He was certain his answers were going to get more and more ridiculous, but he thought he’d start off simple at first.

THE FAMILIAR WHISTLE already gave away who’d just entered the – for once – not very crowded scat cat’s. a grin automatically tugged at tigger’s lips as he watched thomas o’malley enter and march towards the counter. “ now i cannot seem to figure it out – what is that song you’re always whistling ? “, he asked as thomas hopped onto the counter. following the man’s example, tigger jumped on the counter near the wall, opposite of thomas, with a smile still on his features. “ it’s actually about to end in about five minutes. “, he was happy to inform his friend, wiggling his eyebrows. “ i a l w a y s got time for you, old man. “, and that was a fact. tigger enjoyed spending time with thomas – even if he practically didn’t have time, he’d make it.

“Why, my song of course.” Thomas replied with a cheeky grin. “Can’t go anywhere without singin’ my theme song now can I?” He asked with a chuckle, watching as Tigger bounced up onto the counter with him. “Old man? Ya wound me, you cut me real deep!” He pouted, clutching at his chest dramatically before snickering. “So, you feelin’ like bowlin’ or do you wanna see what trouble we can scrounge up elsewhere?”

Adam looked at Thomas for a moment and then let out a huff that was mostly just a deep sigh. “Fine.” He put back to the shelf the book he had picked up and headed to the hallway. “Left or right?” he asked as he stepped at the first cross roads. The library and bathroom were on the left and so was one unopened door, and on the right was the office and two unopened doors.

Thomas grinned, chuckling to himself as Adam lead the way to the hallway. He peered down both ends of the hall. One closed door versus two closed doors. He pointed down the right hallway, looking over at him with a shrug. “More mysteries to unlock down this way.” He pointed out with a small chuckle.

“A wise choice.” Thomas definitely wouldn’t be a welcome visitor in the house if he would’ve gone snooping around like a total idiot. Most likely he would’ve gotten caught, by the dogs if no one else, and you really wouldn’t want the dogs to be the ones caughing you doing something you shouldn’t. “Instead of a tour I’ll let you go around and then tell what room is which if it’s not obvious as you look in.”

“Aw c’mon Adie.” Thomas walked over to his friend, grabbing him by the shoulders and grinning at him. “Don’t make me explore all by my lonesome. I need a travel guide.” He teased. “Adventures are more fun in pairs anyways.”

“Hey, came as soon as I got your text.” Thomas spoke as he let himself into Ralph’s apartment, sliding off his jacket and draping it over the back of a chair. “What’s goin’ on Ralphie? This another intervention?” He asked with a light laugh. “Don’t think I could take another one of those.”

Adam just stared at Thomas because he knew very well Thomas understood him wrong on purpose. Of course one person didn’t live in every room of a big house. Adam crossed his arms across his chest. “You’d probably do it at some point anyway, so I’d rather give you a permission for it. I’m actually surprised you haven’t going snooping around by now.”

Thomas shrugged, shaking his head. “If you were anyone else, I might’ve. But eh, you’re pretty private already, so I figured that wouldn’t sit well with ya.” He confessed, standing up and biting his lip. “You wanna give me a grand tour?”

“That’s because you always come here when I’m working or when I just ended the day.” Basically Thomas always happened to come over when Adam happened to be downstairs doing something. Either in the living room, the library or the office. Adam had to stop himself from rolling his eyes at Thomas’ question. “..they live in them”, he replied bluntly. “But if you want to see the rooms, just go and check the ones you want to.”

“In so many?” Thomas shook his head, looking truly bewildered. He never saw the purpose in a big house like this... not that he wouldn’t mind living in a place like this anyway. He just couldn’t see himself living in it alone like Adam essentially did, except for Collin and the dogs of course. But Adam was more of a loner than Thomas was. “Really? You’d let me go and just... open doors?” He asked curiously.

Thomas whistled his theme song as he sauntered into Scat Cat’s, looking around with a smirk. Scat Cat’s was a pretty cool place to hang out- you could bowl, you could eat some pizza, you could sing karaoke... Thomas enjoyed it, to say the least. These people felt like his people. He smirked at the sight of a familiar face at the counter, walking over and hopping up onto it. He grinned down at Tigger, head tilting to the side. “Tiggy, buddy, what’s your shift today? Think ya have time to go a few rounds with your ol’ pal O’Malley?” He asked with a small smirk.

Adam was standing by one of the bookshelves in the living room, just looking through the shelves to find that one book he wasn’t quite sure was it in the correct spot or not. There were so many books in the whole house – and a lot of bookshelves – and sometimes it was hard to remember what book belonged where and where another book might have ended up at. Thomas’ question made him frown and Adam turned around looking at Thomas. “I do hang out in other rooms too”, he noted, “There a lot of rooms in this house, it’d be stupid to be just in two rooms.”

Thomas shrugged, smiling a little. “But every time I see ya, you’re always in one of three rooms. I ain’t ever seen ya in one of the other ones. I thought they were off limits.” He confessed with a soft chuckle. “What’s in all those rooms anyway?” He asked curiously, tilting his head to the side. “Ya don’t gotta tell me, but I am curious. Your house is just so big... I dunno what people do with houses like these.”

Thomas and Adam ere getting pretty close, or at least Thomas thought they were. They had certainly come a long way from when they met. Thomas was at Adam’s almost every other day now, visiting him and the dogs and Colin. Just trying to break Adam a little more out of his shell. He hummed to himself as he sat in one of the few rooms he had actually seen and been in- almost every other door in the house was shut, and he didn’t think Adam would take him snooping around very well. “Why do ya always hang out in these three rooms?” He asked Adam curiously, looking over at him with furrowed brows. “Your house is so big. Why don’t ya mix it up a little?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟFAWN was considerably smaller than Thomas was and hugging him always made her giggle. She honestly didn’t think she was that petite, but everything made sense. Being outside all the time, chasing after animals and climbing up trees, of course she was in shape. Giggling, she pulled away from him and crossed her arms over her chest, trying to look menacing. But you see, there’s no way that would work. Because she couldn’t stop laughing. “You’re trapped. The walls are closing in. There’s nowhere to go. Just give up now, O’Malley. We’ve cornered you!” Trying to act like a cop wasn’t really working because honestly, she looked ridiculous. “I’d like it if you stayed for as long as possible though. I like having you around,” she explained, fiddling with her hands. With her parents now alone, probably traveling around the country in her caravan, there’d be times when she’d go for months without seeing them. It was nice having adults around that she could trust. “Well, there’s a scavenger hunt for the animal shelter and I need a partner. We have to go around the whole town and find clues and take pictures and there’s this big massive prize at the end.”

Fawn trying to be intimidating made Thomas snort and laugh so hard his stomach actually hurt. Someone as sweet as Fawn just couldn’t be that intimidating, no matter how hard she tried. Of course, maybe she was when she was genuinely angry. Thomas didn’t really want to find out. “A scavenger hunt eh? And it’ll help the animals?” He asked, chuckling softly. “Hell, ‘m in. You’re gonna need a good partner for this sorta thing eh?” He grinned.

Her grin lingers, the sparkle within her green hues twinkling. “I mean, you could always try.” Taffyta coaxes. Her nose scrunching up, cutely. “We’ll go easy on you.” Adds she, teasingly. “Both. But I usually work with them if I do go.”

“Shoot, really? Hell, I like it when a girl knows her way around a bike or a car. Ya don’t see too many that do, but I shoulda figured the sugar racers would know a thing or two.” He smirked a little. “And nah, you ladies would leave me in the dust!”

“You certainly are”, he agreed because Thomas indeed felt like a man who could take care of himself no matter what the situation was. The smile turned slightly bigger just for a second at Thomas’ comment, but then the sudden hand around his broad shoulders made him look all surprised and clearly not really knowing how he should react to such. Part of him wanted to shrug the hand off but the other part of him wanted to act like the sudden touch was nothing. “I’ll pay”, Adam said before Thomas could even suggest anything else. After all, Adam had no problem with money and he certainly had no issue paying a meal for a.. friend. They were friends, of sorts at least, right? Adam glanced around them, noticed the bicycle stand and just wrapped the leashes around it – a dog attached to a dog – and then just pointed at the spot next to it to the dogs and both of them sat down without saying a word. Adam knew they would stay still even without him doing a thing to the leashes, but it had to at least look like the dogs were tied down. Adam walked to the door and held it open for Thomas. “Order whatever you like and as much as you like.”

Thomas could actually afford to buy himself food regularly now, but he was never one to turn down an offer for someone else to pay. He gave the dogs one last pat on the head before making his way inside, chuckling at Adam’s offer. “Careful Adie, ya don’t wanna give me that kind of freedom.” He teased, walking up to the counter to place their to go order. He ordered himself a double cheeseburger with curly fries and a strawberry cheesecake milkshake, ordering the other double bacon burger with a chocolate shake for their friend back at the house. He glanced over at Adam, flashing him a grin. “How ‘bout you buddy? Whatcha thinkin’?”

She couldn’t help turning her head at the sound of the Harley, a look of awe on her face. “It’s so cool!” she complimented. The young woman could just imagine her parents’ uneasiness to her just being near the bike, yet she quickly rid the thought. No good to be anything but happy, like she always said! “My parents use to be wary about them, especially my dad. Yet they always seemed so fascinating. How fast can it go?”

Thomas chuckled at the girl’s enthusiasm, wrinkling his nose a little. Her enthusiasm rivaled Fawn’s. Fawn would get a kick out of this bike. “I can see that, bikes are petty dangerous after all.” He mused with a shrug. “I dunno how fast it can go yet. I wanna be out on the interstate if I wanna find that out. Last thing I need is a speeding ticket or anythin’ for speedin’ through town.” He mused, chuckling a little. “It’s nice though, feels like flyin’.”

“Hey, you said it was your birthday, you may have been turning into an old man this year who wants nothing more than to stay home.” She teased, not being able to picture him ever choosing to have a nice quiet night at home - even when he was older. “That’s… A little sad, but free candy is great. Though, I went out mostly so everyone could compliment me on whatever outfit I choose that year. I put way too much thought into them, even as a kid.” Her tone was almost fond, despite the fact she wasn’t too far removed from the little girl who’d always wanted to look her best. Following where he lead, she nodded as he spoke. "Did you do any research about what one you should get? Or did you just… know?”

“Marie, the day I wanna stay home rather than go out on my birthday, I’ve been replaced with an evil clone.” Thomas told her semi seriously, unable to stop himself from snorting. He was always up for a party, no matter his mood. “You know, ‘m not too surprised by that. I’m sure you were the prettiest princess.” He assured her. He shrugged at her question. “I just sorta picked the one I thought was pretty.” He confessed, snickering to himself. “I mean the guys at the shop helped but... yeah, I picked the pretty one.”

“I weirdly get that. I’ve always related more to my cat than other human beings, so maybe your theory checks out,” she said with a chuckle, relieved that Kimchi had finally settled down. “Nice to meet you too. Yeah, I had to take him back in today for his last round of vaccines, but at least now he’s all set for the year.”

“I mean, I’m biased, but I’m pretty sure it does.” Thomas chuckled softly. “Well, at least he’s done. No reason to go runnin’ off little buddy.” He mused, turning his attention briefly back to the cat before looking back at Gogo. “Is he your only pet?”

“Oh, you’re not—” Peter began, eyes widening. “Not on social media? I’m impressed. Really, you’re such a cool cat.” He praised, smiling. That was perhaps a good thing for Thomas, too. Social media was such a hot-cold platform. “Fantastic!” He added, stepping forward and walking next to Thomas. “It wasn’t an impulse purchase, right?” He wondered, “You can never go wrong with a Harley though. It’s the badass of the badasses.”

Thomas snickered, shaking his head. “I guess I just never really saw the need. I can have the whole world know my business without twitterin’ about it.” He shrugged. He shrugged again at his question. “Technically Cara Heart but the idea in my head, pointed out how it’d work with my ‘bad boy image’.” Thomas snickered. “But also eh, I got kinda tired of walkin’ everywhere or bummin’ rides off the backs of trucks. It was time for a change... besides, I can afford that kinda thing now.”
