“…Never…?” His gaze moving back to the scores of ashen bodies, and he couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of pity. There had been so much loss, and for what reason he could not fathom. What he did know is that they were in as much danger for the end as these mortals. Does he not know? “This is not true.” Looks towards the other again, his expression was betraying him as it showed off the pain that he held so deeply inside. It was faint, but he was attempting to keep it together. “We can fade as gruesomely as they. I have lost friends, family, my own kind to the ways and whims of mortal - of humans. They hunted us. I am the last, and to have lived as long as I have is a feat that should not be allowed. Time is supposed to not be on my side. We do have a limit, I’m afraid. Some, it is of the mind that goes first. Something gone wrong, a bend that was never straightened, or never looked upon with sharp eyes.” | @fingcring |
A crease in his brow was the only sign that Roy’s words had somewhat perturbed him, but it smoothed as quickly as the tide smoothed the shore. There was a smile at his lips, arrogant, but child-like at the same time. Children never thought that they would die, after all.
“Humans fear what they cannot understand, what they cannot control. If you do have some affliction of the mind, brother, there’s no doubt it was placed there by humanity as a fail safe. What is done can be undone, and I can try...if you’ll let me.”
With that, he continued on towards the large structure he called home. There was no true entryway, he came and went wherever was nearest and he had made plenty of entries for himself. Leading Roy further inside, he stopped in a small chamber that was akin to a common room. He took a seat and gestured for Roy to do the same.
“You aren’t Weyland, no. Dare I say...Tyrell? Could you be one of them? A replicant?” In his eyes shone boyish excitement, as though he never thought to see such a wonder. He almost looked as though he wouldn’t even accept another answer.
