Good ways to Lose Weight
How should I challenge myself?
Some weeks ago, I provided you my way of challenging myself every month. Don’t get me wrong, you should challenge yourself everyday.
For those who missed the party, since February I decided to do a hard challenge every month (it’s not the 30 days squat challenge). Instead of doing a normal workout, I would do something away from the normality, something that seems impossible.
I receive tons of questions regarding how you should challenge yourself. I will explain how I do it.
In February, I did the 100 bench press and deadlift superset challenge (I made that name). I did bench press and deadlift in superset (in a row) until I reached 100 repetitions with a weight I struggle doing 10-12 reps (225 lbs in my case), with 1-1:30min rest between sets. No matter how long it would took me I would reach the 100 repetitions. It was intense
In March, I did the 100 shoulder-traps-forearms destruction training. Doing a tri set (3 exercises in a row): military press, dumbbells shrugs, barbell wrist curl over a bench. With 1min rest between sets
Today, it was legs. My goal was to do 100 repetitions for squats (225 lbs), incline leg press (630 lbs), leg extensions (120 lbs), with 1-1:30min rest between sets, no matter how long it would took me. I did them separately. At the end of the workout, I just wanted to go home and lay down on my bed, but obviously it was hard to simply walk.
The bottom line: how I challenge myself should inspire you to be creative with your workouts. Don’t get stuck into the same routine again and again. Your mind get used to it and your body too. It will allow you to not hit a plateau and also discover your limits.
