I've always had a headcanon that Klaus is autistic, he came off that way to me even when I was reading the books as a kid but it's even more pronounced in the Netflix series- he tends to obsess about reading and talk about little else, he's highly intelligent but seems rather socially awkward, and he doesn't seem to have close friends at the start of the story which might explain why he and Violet are so close and why she's so protective of him.
I also love how Violet always says "Klaus, you know that thing [X] said?" when she's trying to reassure him. I like to imagine it's a comforting routine she always uses when she senses he's anxious or upset, there's something so sweet about it.
