The Stardust Merchant is a mysterious trader, roaming the galaxy in search of rare and potent resources like stardust. Firebox encounters him on a desolate, rocky planetoid after crash-landing, stranded and in need of a new ship. The Merchant, sensing Firebox’s desperation, approaches with a sly grin, offering “assistance” at an exorbitant price.
From his collection of item capsules—spherical containers that compress items for easy storage—the Merchant unveils a selection of rare goods. Among them is an archaic Luna spacecraft, spinning miniature within its capsule, yet full-sized when released.
Initially demanding a steep 300,000 stardust shards for the vessel, the Merchant and Firebox haggle until a more reasonable deal is struck down to 5,000. As Firebox secures his new ship, he can't shake the uneasy feeling that the Merchant’s motives for collecting stardust are anything but noble. Known to deal with dubious characters, the Merchant’s relentless pursuit of this rare substance hints that their paths are destined to cross again—likely with even higher stakes.
