Hey everyone! I’m Rose, and this is my first role, Oliver Beaumont. I couldn’t be more excited to start plotting and writing with everyone. If you have any plot ideas, feel free to reach out here or on discord!

Quick Facts:

Oliver was born & raised in Roseport. He loves this city and will never leave. He plans to stay even if things go to shit with the slayers and VIGILANTE.

He owns EXPRESS-O CAFE in Old Town Plaza. Aside from the coven, the coffee shop is his pride and joy. He’s there almost all the time. Watch out, though, because his cat hangs around the tables and counter to demand pets.

His cat’s name is Smelly. Yes, like the song from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Luckily, he doesn’t actually smell.

He lives about a block away from the coffee shop. The house is old and was cheap as hell when he bought it five years ago. He claims he’s renovating it, but so far, he’s only fixed up his bedroom and the kitchen.

He’s been Supreme of the Beaumont Coven for a little over six months, and in that time, he’s pushed for a lot of changes. Mainly, he wants all covens to open up and stop being so secretive with one another - starting with his own. He’s also looking to renegotiate the long-standing treaty that is the subject of so much discord right now.

His official position with the VIGILANTE threat is that the Beaumont Coven should keep obeying the terms of the treaty and maintain their relationship with the slayers.

Ollie is super outgoing. He’ll chat with anyone, whether they’re a customer at the coffee shop or just a stranger in line for the bus, but he’s loyal first and foremost to his coven, and then his friends. He holds grudges and finds it hard to let go of wrongdoings, especially when they’re transgressions about the people he cares about.

He’s incredibly stubborn. He’ll die on any hill, even when he realizes he’s wrong. He rarely apologizes, so when he does, it’s genuine.

Oliver has major relationship commitment issues. Every single serious romantic relationship he’s had ended because of his own hesitations about the idea of forever. It probably stems from the disaster that was his parents’ relationship. Flings feel safer to him, so he’s more likely to date a woman casually, or a few women casually, and call it off quickly.

Right now, he’s incredibly busy with the coven. Between trying to salvage the relationship between the witches and the slayers, forging a new future for the coven, and dealing with the ins and outs of being a new Supreme, his life has turned into almost entirely witch business. He’s been a little hard to get in contact with, but he’s trying to get back to a new normal - which means reaching out to his friends, starting to go back out, and dating again. 

Connection Ideas:

Click here to see the connections Ollie has so far. I have a few starting point ideas below, but these are not by any means the only plots I’m open to or want. Never be afraid to reach out to me for plots! Even if an idea doesn’t work right off the bat, I’m always happy to brainstorm something that will.

Opposing Witches: Ollie’s hopes to open up the covens is a known thing throughout the witch community. I’d love to have some witches, both in his own coven and in others, who disapprove of these ideas and dislike him for it.

Flings: Again, Ollie is more likely to have flings than full on serious relationships. I’m down for a few of these, whether they’re current or past! We can figure out the details of whether they ended well or badly, etc. etc.

Supernatural Friends: Ollie is trying really, really hard to maintain relations with everyone despite the VIGILANTE threat. He’s been a little off the grid the past few months while adjusting to being Supreme, but he’s getting back out there and catching up with his friends now.

Allies: People who think renegotiating the treaty is a good idea! This can be straightforward where they’re both on the same page, or maybe they have ulterior motives and are using Ollie as a means to an end.

Astrid didn’t mean to say anything more about the singer and his fanboy moment, but Ollie always had the effect of getting her to say more than she meant to. “Only the ones who take selfies with the singer… or was that her idea? I wouldn’t be surprised, she totally wanted to fuck you, you could see it in her eyes.” She scoffed, and immediately regretted it, taking a long drink of her beer. Dammit, this was going to be a long night.

“You know I’m no good at telling stories,” she rolled her eyes, what was she going to tell him about? The time she was contracted to make it look like a guy died in his sleep, but before she could, he had an allergic reaction to shellfish and died all on his own? That was real fun to explain to the client, especially when she pointed out that deposits are nonrefundable for a reason. “Fine, you go first then. Maybe I’ll fall asleep and then I won’t have to tell one.”

Satisfaction bloomed in his chest. Astrid had been bothered enough by the photo to form an opinion of it, and that was all that mattered. With a one shoulder shrug, he took another drink of beer. “First of all, you tell good stories. It’s not your fault not everyone listens well.” God, why was he going to such lengths to compliment her? He fidgeted, but didn’t avoid her gaze. “Second, who cares if the singer wanted to fuck me? I didn’t want to sleep with her. Besides, why do you even care?” He was going to make her say it - or at least come close to saying it. Drawing his eyes toward the sky again, Ollie added, “I have plenty of stories to tell, none of which would make you fall asleep. Every story I tell, even the sad ones, are entertaining, and I’ve got nearly ten years worth of events to fill you in on.”

“What, so you’re just a fanboy?” Astrid quirked a brow at him. A part of her was genuinely relieved that he hadn’t taken a date to the club in her place, but she was determined not to let that show. But she was still sure that if he had wanted to find a date, he could have. He was attractive and charming, even if she wouldn’t admit it. 

She didn’t doubt his words, though. It wasn’t hard to believe that she was foremost in his mind, although it still made her wonder why he’d wanted to break up in the first place. Oh, right, he hadn’t wanted to break up, he just didn’t want to marry her. As if there was a difference. “I don’t want to fight tonight, okay? So just drink this and shut up.” She reached into the cooler by her chair and pulled out a beer, handing it over unceremoniously.

With a snort, Oliver said, “Fanboy? Is that what everyone who says hello to the band after a show is?” It would be easy to explain the whole situation - the wrong number text the singer had sent, that he’d agreed to go to the show to support the local musicians - but he’d planned to tell Astrid all of that at Delirium. Now, he wasn’t sure he wanted to give her the whole truth so easily. He took the beer, offering her a smile in return, even though he was desperate to know whether she believed him. 

“Fine, but if I have to shut up, you have to talk,” Ollie pointed the beer bottle at her as if wagging his finger. “Tell me a story. One from when you were away, and remember I can tell when you’re lying.” He took a long swig of his drink, eyes never leaving Astrid. “I’ll tell you one too. A real one.”

Astrid just gave him a withering look when he played innocent, well aware that he knew exactly who she meant. He posted that picture knowing she’d see it, she was sure of that. “You didn’t seem to have much trouble finding someone else to take… I guess it’s a good thing I’m so easily replaced.” She scoffed, looking back up at the sky. “You know I don’t play third-wheel very well.”

“That was the lead singer of the band.” Oliver let Astrid talk, not bothering to ignore the satisfaction he felt that she’d spent any time at all thinking about who he’d been with at Delirium. Maybe it was stupid and childish, but it made him feel like some part of her still cared. Relaxing into the lawn chair, Olive crossed one leg over the other. “I didn’t take anyone else. Nice to know you think I can land a date on short notice.” 

Even though he was glad to have caught her attention with the picture - considering that was his intention - something about her words didn’t sit right with him. He played it off with an eye roll. “When have I ever genuinely tried to make you play third wheel? I won’t pretend I never tried to make you jealous, but...” But she had always come first. If there was a question of whether he’d rather spend his time with Astrid or some other pretty woman, it would always be Astrid. His jaw worked as he looked up at the sky. “You’ve never been second to anyone. At least not to me.”

Astrid didn’t answer him right away, looking up at the darkening sky instead. A part of her wanted to send him on his way, again, to rebuff him yet again, but if she did, she’d be alone. It didn’t usually bother her, she was a loner by nature, but did she really want to sit here alone tonight? It would be the first time she watched the fireworks without her mom… and it seemed like Ollie knew that. A wry smile cracked her face when he told her they could judge the fireworks together; he did know her too well. 

“I guess you can stay… I might need someone to guard my spot if I need to use the restroom, after all.” She shrugged, pointing to the bag that she’d brought with the extra lawn chair. It wasn’t like she anticipated company, they just came two-for-one like that. “As long as your little friend from the other night isn’t coming. I didn’t bring any wine coolers so she probably wouldn’t be interested.”

Oliver turned to hide the smile that threatened to break out across his face. This meant nothing, after all. He picked up the bag with the lawn chair, shaking it so that the chair fell partially out and was easier to remove. “What friend?” Ollie asked innocently, feigning ignorance. It was easy enough to keep a straight face, but there was a glint in his eyes that couldn’t be hidden. “Oooh you mean the girl from the concert I invited you to?” he asked as he set up chair, pretending to suddenly understand who she meant. Ignoring the obvious dig at the woman from the band, Ollie shrugged and sat down. “I didn’t think you’d look at any of my pictures. It was a fun night. You should’ve been there.”

“I’m sure you like to believe that,” Astrid rolled her eyes at him, taking a sip of her drink. She had seen the picture Ollie had posted with that little blonde thing at Delirium, and in truth, it had made her angry. But she was trying not to let it show. What did she care if he wanted to bang some wispy little faerie or whatever? Except she did care. “Yes, that was more than enough clubbing to last me a lifetime. But…” she glanced towards the sky. Her mother had always loved the summer festival, and used to drag her out to the beach to watch the fireworks. It wouldn’t feel right not to come out in her place, since she was in town. “I wanted to see the fireworks.”

Oliver rolled his eyes right back, more out of habit (even after ten years) than anything. Whatever smart retort he had on his lips died when he saw the way she quickly looked at the sky. He wanted to be angry with her, to walk away and leave her to her own devices after she blew him off. But...but he couldn’t just walk away from her. Not again. Not when he knew everything Astrid had lost. “We can watch them together,” he offered, voice softer than before. He was trying hard not to look too sympathetic, figuring she wouldn’t want his pity, not that he was pitying her at all. “Well, we can judge them together. Last year’s show sucked. We can rate this one.” He didn’t sit down, waiting for her to tell him to go away. And if she did...he might just go for good this time. 

“Actually, they’ve gotten lamer the past few years. Maybe I just remember them being more impressive when we were younger -” Realizing he was talking way too much, Ollie shifted his own gaze to the sky.

Looking at Oliver, Dorian was intrigued. He looked like he could be somebody’s father. It wasn’t often that Dorian interacted with men who looked like they could be baseball coaches. That just wasn’t the musician’s natural circle of friends. “Oh yeah, this whole carnival thing is cool and all. Especially the food. But I dunno, I guess I’m just more amped for fall than summer. Autumn is more my speed. I mean, don’t I look like I’d enjoy fall more?” He replied, gesturing towards his outfit, leather and chains adorned over his body along with his tattoos. Dorian had a very punk aesthetic and he was proud of it.

Oliver laughed at the sight - not because Dorian looked bad, but because the idea of having an absolute favorite season was comical. “Come on, summer and fall both have their perks. Summer has long days, the weather is always nice...there’s just a certain energy to it. I’m more than happy to celebrate it one last time before it starts to get cold.” Maybe it was the sun, so similar to his own fire power, that made Ollie crave the longer days and blazing hot temperatures. “But I’m all for changing leaves and apple picking. I’m not exactly a...leather jacket kind of guy, but I’ll go for a jean jacket any day. The fall fashion is better, or at least, it’s way comfier.”

Honestly, participating in ‘summer festivities’ sounded like something Dorian would rather not do. However, he knew the whole town would be in attendance so he figured, why not? It’s not like he had anything better to do. Plus, the food would probably be good, if nothing else. He wandered around the area until he ran into someone he recognized. “Heyyy, wanna go do something fun? And by that I mean something more fun than a summer themed carnival when it’s already damn near autumn? In my opinion, we could’ve waited till Halloween for this.”

Oliver shook his head, amazed at the lack of excitement. “Come on, the leaves aren’t falling yet, so it’s technically still summer.” The days were still long and warm, too. It was only nights that were chillier, and Ollie would admit he’d seen a few leaves changing colors. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he shrugged. “I’m having plenty of fun. Don’t you like any carnival stuff? The food, the rides, the games? Any of it?”

“Fair enough,” Ezra nodded, he understood that, before last year he hadn’t gone farther than a few hours drive from his home either, “Is it gonna snow here?” He asked, falling into step with Ollie as they made their way through the crowd, “ I mean not now but like, y’know, at some point?“

“Hey, no, don’t worry about it, you’ve got your whole coven to run,” He said, waving a hand. Never having been a part of a coven structure, he didn’t really understand all that went into being a Supreme, but it had to be complicated, “Things are fine, nothing too exciting. How are you? With everything going on?” Ezra had kept a pretty low profile, so he wasn’t too worried about himself with the VIGILANTE group, but others had a lot more to be concerned about. 

With a raised eyebrow, Ollie nodded. “Yeah, it snows quite a bit. The wind off the lake is awful if you live close enough.” Unfortunately, Ollie did live close enough to the man-made lake for the colder months to be made worse by it. Hands in his pockets as they meandered down the walkway, he shrugged. “Being busy doesn’t excuse not checking in. You’re new around here, the least I can do is make sure you’re settling in.” Ollie hadn’t forgotten what else they’d talked about that first meeting, but he wasn’t going to bring it up right away. “Everything is fine. Not great, but fine. The coven is doing well, and that’s what I really care about. I’m trying to reach out to the other covens and make sure they’re all doing okay, but...it’s an uphill battle. Getting everyone to trust each other seems impossible sometimes.”

The expression given to the gloves brought a mirthful hum out of Stag as he watched the man put them on. In all his time surrounded by art snobs and financial elites, the return to casual society would often cause gentle reminders that he’s just slightly out of place. If he were being honest, he quite liked the feeling. “The funnel cake might help your broken heart a little bit better but maybe a drink or two in your system might make the gaming more fun. Who knows? Being thrown off balance might actually help you win a few,” he replied with a chuckle. The offer to buy him a drink felt like he was paying the kindness forward and Stag wasn’t one to complain about generosity coming his way. “I wouldn’t really be me if I refused to let a pretty man buy me a drink. I’ll even let you pick for the sake of adventure.”

“Funnel cake,” Ollie repeated longingly, glancing up and down at all the food stalls around them. “I’ll have to find one later. But for now - drinks. Because you’re right, I am pretty, and a few drinks will likely help my gaming skills. It always helps when I play cards.” Flashing a wide grin, Ollie led Caio down the walkway, dodging little kids that were darting around and adults who were paying more attention to their food and prizes than their surroundings. When he actually found a place serving alcohol, he nodded at Caio to have him order whatever he wanted, and then Ollie did the same and paid. “I love these things, you know. Festivals, celebrations - anything that celebrates Roseport. I know it’s silly, but...” he shrugged as he took his drink, dropping a few bucks into the tip jar. “I’ve only ever lived here. It’s important to me.”

“You should probably check your weather app more often there, handsome,” he suggested, head tilted slightly and mouth forming the subtlest of smiles. He reached into his satchel and pulled out a pair of dark gloves, holding them out in the space between them. Givenchy. They matched his Burberry hooded cape, but he was willing to part with the gloves as a generous act of the day. Festivals called for some level of benevolence, he supposed. “I don’t think I saw any carts specifically for coffee around but we might be able to get you an Irish coffee from one of the bars.” Where there was an abundance of people, there was bound to be alcohol.

Ollie raised an eyebrow at the obviously expensive, far too-nice gloves. They certainly would look odd with his old sweatshirt and jeans, but he wasn’t about to complain. “Thank you,” he said gratefully, sliding the gloves on and flexing his fingers inside them. “That’s much better. Ugh. Probably. Besides, a little drink might help my broken heart when I inevitably lose all the games.” He glanced around, trying to spot a bar or a cart where they might be able to grab a drink. “Since you so generously let me borrow your gloves, I’ll buy you a drink.”

“You get cold too easily,” Astrid knew she should resist the urge to say something, but when it came to Ollie, she found it difficult to resist. “I’m surprised you didn’t show up in a snuggie.” She also knew that when she heard his voice, she should’ve just walked away from where she’d set up her lawn chair to watch the fireworks, but a stubborn part of her didn’t want to move. Why should she? She was here first.

Ollie hadn’t meant to find Astrid at the festival. He’d decided to stay away after she blew him off. Had he hoped the picture of the pretty singer he’d met would tempt Astrid to contact him again? Maybe. But when not even that had worked...he’d tried to wrap his mind around the idea that they just would have to learn to ignore each other. “My power is literally fire. If anything, I run hot.” He couldn’t help but look over at her. Shoving his hands deeper into his pockets, Ollie added, “I’m surprised you’re here. I would’ve thought you’d have your fill of crowds after your little trip to Delirium.”

But isn’t it always like this in New England?” This was Ezra’s first year on the east coast, but from what he understood the weather fluctuations around here were far greater than those in San Diego, “I think there was one a few blocks-er-aisles? Rows?” He faltered briefly over the terms, but tried to right himself after a moment and pointed, “That way.” 

“I suppose. I’ve never lived anywhere else, so I can’t really compare it.” Ollie never felt a desire to leave his home city or his coven - even when the weather got on his nerves. Smiling, he nodded his head in the direction Ezra pointed and started walking. “How have you been doing? I’m sorry I haven’t had a chance to catch up with you since you first got to town.”

“Does it really count as Summer Fest if I have to wear a sweatshirt when it starts to get dark?” As if on cue, Ollie shivered slightly. He shoved his hands into his pockets, flexing his fingers to keep warm. “I swear, summer just decided to disappear overnight. Have you seen a coffee cart anywhere? I need to warm up if I’m going to enjoy the rides.”

“With love advice, I am the oracle. I’ve made enough dating mistakes to know that you’re making one.” She smiled gently, confident in her convictions as usual. “That’s a lie. You are lying to me. Because if you had you wouldn’t be bothered she’s here.” 

She snorted at his words, holding her stomach as she laughed. “Now i’m tempted to do it just to see them have kittens. But no. I can’t see myself ever getting married. I have my friends for fun. But i am not interested in settling down for any man.” 

“Why is everyone so obsessed with marriage?” Ollie asked, fully understanding his sister’s feelings on the subject, and mostly agreeing. Now...now he might be willing to at least try, but the fear was still there, a little nagging part of him that didn’t think marriage was the right step for him, maybe for anyone. “Can’t adults just have relationships without a little piece of paper saying they’re forever bound by the government? I don’t know. It’s so formal and impersonal for something that is so...well, personal.” 

Bothered. He was absolutely bothered by Astrid being back. Not in a bad way. He liked that she was there, and that was the problem. “Maybe we both need to swear off love all together. You’ve made dating mistakes, I’ve made dating disasters. Maybe the Beaumont's just aren’t meant for commitment.”
